Step 3 · Remove the P-trap

This is the step people usually slow down on. Go finger-tight first, then a quarter turn. No rush — replay the clip whenever it helps.

Loosen and carefully remove the P-trap from the disposal outlet. Have a bucket ready underneath to collect any wastewater. Use appropriate pliers or wrenches to loosen the slip nuts or connections.
