Step 4 · Test Fit and Clean the Opening
Take the access panel frame and insert it into the newly cut opening to confirm it fits. It should be snug but not so tight that you have to force it. If the opening is too small in any area, use a utility knife to carefully shave small amounts of drywall from the edge until the frame fits perfectly. Once the fit is correct, remove the frame and use a damp cloth or a shop vacuum to clean up all the drywall dust from the wall surface and the floor.
