Step 3 · Remove the Packing Nut

This is the step people usually slow down on. Go finger-tight first, then a quarter turn. No rush — replay the clip whenever it helps.

Use an adjustable wrench to carefully remove the packing nut (the large nut holding the stem in place). Turn the nut counter-clockwise to loosen it.
