Step 3 · Connect and Secure the New Garbage Disposal

This is the step most people slow down on. Take it one move at a time — there’s no rush, and you can rewind the clip as many times as you need.

Connect the dishwasher drain line (if applicable) to the disposal inlet and attach the discharge pipe to the disposal outlet. Double-check that all connections are snug and leak-free. Refer to the wiring diagram to connect the electrical wires correctly. Carefully rotate the disposal into the mounting ring until it clicks into place.
