Step 4 · Install the New Valve Stems

This is the step most people slow down on. Take it one move at a time — there’s no rush, and you can rewind the clip as many times as you need.

Visit your local hardware store with the old stems to ensure you get exact replacements. Carefully install the new valve stems, inserting them into the valve body and tightening the packing nuts with the adjustable wrench. Avoid over-tightening.
