Step 2 · Disassemble the Faucet

This is the step most people slow down on. Take it one move at a time — there’s no rush, and you can rewind the clip as many times as you need.

Carefully disassemble the compression faucet. Begin by removing the handle screws (often hidden under decorative caps). Once the screws are removed, take off the handles. Then, remove the packing nut and stem. Remember to take photos as you go to aid reassembly.
