Continuing Wall Construction & Reinforcement
At 0:50 in
Wrapping up a VERY BIG Retaining wall.
What happens here
Workers are actively engaged in various tasks essential for continuing the retaining wall construction. A mini excavator is used to efficiently move and shape large piles of earth behind the partially built wall. Simultaneously, other crew members use a plate compactor to thoroughly compact the freshly laid backfill, ensuring a stable and solid foundation for subsequent courses of blocks. Interlocking blocks are meticulously placed to extend the height and length of the wall. Additionally, flexible corrugated drainage pipes are strategically laid within the backfill, and sections of geogrid (geosynthetic reinforcement mesh) are unfurled and secured between block courses to enhance the structural integrity and stability of the retaining wall.
