What happens here

Open the hood of the vehicle with the dead battery. Carefully place the Milwaukee M18 HOTSHOT Compact Portable Jump Starter on a stable, non-moving surface within the engine bay, ensuring it is clear of any hot or moving engine components. Locate the car battery's positive (+) terminal (typically marked with a plus sign and often covered with a red cap) and the negative (-) terminal or a suitable grounding point on the engine block or chassis. First, connect the red positive (+) clamp from the jump starter to the car battery's positive (+) terminal. Next, connect the black negative (-) clamp from the jump starter to a clean, unpainted metal part of the engine block or chassis, away from the battery itself. This provides a safe and effective ground connection. Avoid connecting the negative clamp directly to the negative battery terminal of a severely discharged battery to prevent potential sparks.

Goal: Securely connect the jump starter to the vehicle's battery system.
