What’s the coldest temperature you have worked in? 🥶 #construction #carpentry #tools

What happens here

In an environment with an ambient temperature of 13 degrees Fahrenheit and snow on the ground, attempt to mark a wooden board. The board itself is covered in a layer of snow and ice. Use a red Milwaukee speed square to align a straight edge and then try to draw a line using a carpenter's pencil. Due to the extreme cold, the carpenter's pencil becomes brittle and breaks almost immediately upon contact and pressure with the frozen wood surface, making it impossible to create a discernible mark.

Goal: To draw a straight line on a wooden board in cold weather

Tools and materials

  • Carpenter's Pencil — Attempting to draw a line on the wooden board
  • Speed Square Milwaukee — Guiding the pencil to create a straight line
  • Wooden Board — The surface to be marked
  • Work Gloves — Protecting hands from cold and splinters
