(11,423 characters)today i'm out at a place called arizona luxury coach because i got some cool things in here kind of want to check out we're gonna go look at that one back there it's a 2005 prevost royale i think that's the name for monaco's convergence and this is like what you would have had if you were like the top dog 2005 stainless the whole way down the sides the whole frame and everything is stainless it's kind of like the big deal for the prevost name is that the frame is made of stainless steel which i think is really cool that's like you know they don't do cars like that this is polished like you wouldn't even believe that's not chrome plated that's just polished stainless so yeah that's a monaco let's walk on in here i've never been in this thing i don't know how to turn the lights on we're just gonna figure it out and this door is dense like it's a heavy door if you open a door on a rolls royce and it feels like solo this is exactly what that feels like i'll close it just so you can get the effect i barely touched it it's just like an airlock you gotta love a door the clothes as well ah that's just so cool let's get in here and check this out oh it's pretty spacious let's see where the light's at what the heck i don't want that stop so if you were mr big pimpin in 2004 you were looking to drop a couple million dollars on a motorhome to go do either you know whatever with or do nothing with and just sit in your garage this is probably what you would have lots of places to sit the slides out right now so it would be you know i would imagine this probably pretty tight right here that's going to go in several feet you just have a little way to squeeze through here this is a neat sink it's an interesting configuration with this how this juts out but there's really nothing over here i mean you put put something over there i guess this whole cabinet thing right here is just messing with my head right now like i looked i walked in i'm like it's kind of weird but now the more i look at it it's kind of growing on me because it kind of gives some like dimension to this whole thing so it's not just like a freaking bus airplane fuselage looking thing in here like some of them are and they put this nice lip on there so you know you don't have like little things roll off the countertop while you're driving cooktop i guess gagano uh the noodles use those too because you're gonna have your matching china when you're fancy bose audio ceiling is pretty simple but i like it sometimes you just don't got to overdo it something to note is that the surface of the shower floor is actually kind of flush with the floor like a lot of these are raised up from the actual walking floor level so when you get to headroom it it really knocks it down inside the shower but like this one it's not going to do that because the floor is level with the actual floor which for tall guys like me is a big plus big walk-in-ish closet got some more more controls your av equipment it's nice shells or systems are pretty nice it's all really solid stuff this is all very different for me because i've walked around and looked at so many different noodles over the last couple months coming into bravo on other side of the spectrum is just like a little bit of a culture shock to just do things differently and when i say other side of the spectrum i mean if you're a serious baller and you got you want to spend two million dollars on the best motor coach the money can buy you're gonna buy one of two things you're gonna buy a newell or you're gonna buy a prevost i have a newell that's 25 years old so at that time that thing was pretty pimpin and this is 15 years old it's a 2005. so in 2005 this thing would have been top of the heat right there with a comparable 2005 renewal and you could see why i mean like the sconces it's a very it's a very traditional look where the noodles are more everything's rounded you won't find any hard corners on like the cabinetry and renewal like you would here you got some like rounded stuff in here but it's it's all you know traditional type wood this handle is kind of like handle now this is a uh a royale which is like monaco monaco's prevost line this is a mod conversion by monaco which is not not as top of the top as like a liberty or a marathon but it's still on the prevost chassis and it's still you know expert craftsmanship it just doesn't have the the flare and pizzazz that you would in one of the like a liberty or a marathon or even the way that the things are done over on the newel side of things this this is just a much more traditional look than those other places would get which is what something a lot of people want i know me personally i like the freaking cool stuff i like the flare i like the pizzazz i think some of you guys too but a lot of people don't want that they want traditional homey looking stuff they want it to feel at home in here which is what this style does so i don't know what do you guys think do you like the flare and you know the high-end upscale just flash of the inside of most nulls or like the marathons liberties that kind of stuff or do you like the more traditional look like this one has let's sit down in the driver's seat here there's no air in the system right now so i'm a little low but i could tell you right now this driving position is just great i really i'm comfortable here and i'm a tall guy so i like the pedals to be in front of me not under my foot like my 96 null the pedal is like under my foot so i'm kind of driving like this and it's just not comfortable where over here my feet are out the steering wheel's in front of me it's at an angle it's nice like the you can tell these things are designed to be put down for the long haul the gauge is up there what's in here uh so you can you could change the stuff if you were driving if you needed to but it's not up in your face because it's not super important it's a nice touch all kinds of switches look like you manually level it down here too hwh my new has the exact same panel all kinds of switches up here one thing i'm not super keen on with the prevos is like the dashboard gauges because it just looks like you know this looks like a commercial bus gauge cluster it looks like a commercial bus gauge cluster because it is one and you know i don't know when you're in something like this i feel like you should have no reminder that this is a piece of industrial equipment basically in this really big pillar in here i don't think that's totally necessary but when you put the shades down it kind of you know ties them together a little bit better but from when you're driving like this is my field of vision you have giant pole here for no reason no apparent reason and over there too that obstructs your view and even this like you know cool it looks great when it's down but you know i like i like you should see everything i view stuff from the perspective of a driver that's going to put on serious miles because that's what i do to some people that's not as important that's why they make different ones in different cabinets the slide-out drawers the build quality of these is you know probably about what you would see in an upper end monaco actually i don't feel like this is really up to par with uh i don't feel like it's really up to par with like you know liberty marathon newell level this is just a top level motorhome build inside of a killer chassis is basically what this boils down to and the price will reflect that too different strokes for different folks if you're gonna put on some serious miles and you want like a killer killer chassis killer bride and you know the prevost clout you know maybe you want something like this you don't care about the flashy interior but if you have the money and you want best of both worlds you step it up to like a liberty or a marathon i think it's actually pretty cool that they did different levels of this because it affects the use market too even 10 15 20 years later you you know it looks good on the outside you get the driving benefits but you don't have to pay the price tag for the interior if you don't want to let's go check out the outside open up the engine bay and see what's in here that means i get to close this awesome door again watch this i don't know if you feel that thump like i did but it's pretty awesome another thing with the previous you get these huge just beefy bay doors because these doors are meant for passenger luggage to be open and closed all day every day for a long time they have a hard duty cycle built in mind and you can even tell us by opening the hinge like you know this is how it's closed when you reach over here and open it there's this nice lip for your fingers to go on and that's all stainless too you can tell and they got six bolts in here pulling this up six but yeah you got this this is a heavy duty latch and then when it's on here you just pull on it and it comes up now you get inside here with these shelves and stuff that's built by the converter and not off the chassis but this part is all industrial bus stuff and you got this tier you just go boom done nice and rugged that might be one of my favorite parts should be a detroit series 60 just like my newell let's see it tells the power output on here manufacturer 2003 14 liter oh this is the big boy yep see their 14 liter 515 horsepower that's uh that's a unit right there i only have the the 12.7 i actually did not know that you could get these with a 14 liter i thought they were only in semi trucks maybe this is not a factory motor i don't know i'm gonna have to do some digging if you know if you know what the deal is on those leave a comment let me know because this is news to me and uh you know i'm not gonna lie i kind of wish mine had the 14 liter too just because you know it's the big one and it's cool to say you got the big one i really like the way the front ends look on these things too like obviously the engine's in the back there's no grill but they kind of put that insert in there so it looks like a grill you give that nice traditional car feel and they kind of narrowed down the headlights to give it a better profile over the last version which would be over here we can see that this is the previous body style where you know this was like the precursor to the one over there and they got the thicker like there's these f-150 headlights it's much more classic looking and then they updated it to this look here so it keeps the cool sleek stainless look but it modernizes it and i think it did a really good job with that you see the slides out here all flush no corners to bang your head on like i'm sure some of you've been through this before but can you imagine taking a hard corner on a slide to the dome like that's not good even this is this is a little sharp like some of those renegades i saw in sturgis actually had rubber around here but it was like flush rubber so you wouldn't cut yourself but it didn't stick out either um even round is a heck of a lot better than the regular box edge but the whole exhaust tip for all the powers from this 14 liter engine uh this is my wheelhouse back here big old turbo what's neat about these is the belts retention by air which is kind of interesting good or bad depending how you look at it so when these are off they'll be i'll lose a guzzy then you fire it up and it'll tighten up
