[Music] you can see it right here where we got it got it in you Timmy jingle it come on jingle me man jingle me mine is not the G-rated so the hydraulic line snapped all right you got to do it you got to do it do do it do it come on do it come on do it the split rims that are super dangerous they basically will kill you I'll get the beat going I do want those on my truck he always want he wants everything bigger bigger bigger taka palutis man I have heard about these things for so long he look bad [Music] ass I am sick of the sledge so we have a tire on the sledge that refuses to cooperate it will do nothing more than go flat every few days the Sledge also had a brake caliber breakdown and some other things and we can deal with some of the stuff but that tire is become such a nuisance and you guys have asked for it so we're going to do it we're going to set we're going to put on a set a good snow tires and see exactly how well that improves the performance of the machine the the machine has been clutch for us in winter when it comes to plowing snow it only has 74 horsepower but it just goes and goes I wish it had diff lock it's not a perfect machine it has had its its breakdowns as well but the tires are finally driving me to the point of insanity and I'm done with it I'm getting rid of them and I'm going to put on a really good set of snow tires so let's get out there and get that going right now Alex has the new setup on so we got to go fix the Sledge before we can move the Sledge to put new tires on the Sledge right we just got to fill it up with food it's already fixed well we had to wait for the brake line so I had Zach get a cap so we just capped that uh left side for now okay so now it doesn't leak fluid out the line will be in tomorrow from enough just in case we got to use it tonight some chance of it okay what's what's Tim doing here he's just going to we're all going to learn how to use the grind together oh sweet him and I learned how to put together just well all right well good deal probably took us a good the team's all here yeah all right been saying hi to you on the phone say hi Oh I know I don't need to say hi to you we grew up we grew up together all right you got oh you already got her brine you already got her filled up all right that's for a different video this video we got to put new tires on the Sledge all right guys I've got Jerry on the phone he is one of the guys that actually originally created those famous Haka polluted tires that guys so much love across the the nation Jerry can you hear me okay I can hear you very well hello guys okay so Jerry are the Haka palu tires that I'm sticking on my loader going to be the same things that guys have that they're sticking on their pickup trucks you're going to see a huge improvements as the guys see but they are not the same thing okay these tires are not truck tires they were specifically made for the tractors and loaders to give you the best grip on snow eyes and wet surfaces okay first thing I got to ask you jery is what's the difference between your Haka paludi snow tire and a dirt Tire I would say that the biggest difference is the performance these tires were specifically designed to Excel on the snow and ice so you are going to see way more traction way more efficient performance on your work and you will feel wayer for driving your vehicle okay so but tell me about how is a dirt Tire developed in comparison to a snow tire that makes this big difference in performance what's the mindset behind what you guys were doing when you were trying to make a tire directly for snow and ice if you want to succeed on a snow and ice you need to have a tire which really accommodates the the conditions of the cold weather and a slippery surface we do that through three main things we do that through a specifically designed tread pattern a special tread rubber compound and then casing which delivers the longest widest more rectangular footprint possible what do you mean by the longest widest rectangular footprint possible when you try to get the best scrape you need as many edges and as much thread rubber touching the surface so what you are trying to do is make sure that when the tire flexes under the low and touches the ground that footprint is as long as it can be it is not round or oval it's nice and rectangular and that the distribution of the pressure is as evenly distributed as possible all the way around it that flat across the top lots of ridges lots of bumps softer rubber compound but that softer rubber compound is actually designed to withstand longer abuse on flat Solid Surfaces like asphalt concrete it's not designed to go Offroad and go Demolition and it'll tear but you'll notice that this snow tire doesn't have that rounded design that a mud tire typically has and a mud tire usually will have one two three big lugs this has multiple lugs and each lug has individual cyphing and improves and that gives more edges to bite and grab through the snow and then here's where it gets interesting squishiness the soft rubber you see how that's squishy that soft rubber is designed that as it's the tire is rolling it stays soft even in cold temperatures but it'll squish the snow and ice out of the tire so that you still have these edges able to bite all right we made it out Alex is going to be popping some fuel or some oil in the Sledge and Nate is going to throw what do we got here Nate some Haka palutis was a great great redneck option but this has one track across it and then we did all of these so we're going to change that up and make that right there's a steel belt package under the track which holds the surface nice and flat the sidewalls have the right amount of flexibility so it doesn't push too much or too little on the shoulders this has been all prec calculated and then test it and corrected until you got the right tire shape and the right car right casing for this particular application and while we're talking about tires Tim you ran the mecalac last snow event and the tires are studded that yeah that thing uh and it was icy soon as you'd push the snow give it by the time youd back up that the glaze underneath the wet snow and it was so cold out it just turned a straight ice and this this thing man this thing kicked ass just these little nubbins that Zach put in great option all good Tire options all good traction opt options but I'm so pumped to get some Haka paludis finally Haka paludis Haka palutis man I have heard about these things for so long you use a softer compound in the tires is that correct that is correct okay and why is that there are two reasons for that one is with this kind of Tire most of the time you will spend on the hard surfaces and if you want to have a tire lasting long delivering you high working hours on the hard surface it has to be a compound which withstands these conditions and it has been proved that the softer compounds with a higher volume of natural rubber in them with stand moving on the hard surface is better they last longer so that's one of the reason but the main reason for us is we need a special compound for the snow and wet conditions which will give us the best friction and again hard compound of the Earth moving tires slides these compounds the softer compounds with the more natural rubber in it they just get that friction they get way more bite to to the slippery surface hey look bad ass don't they yeah it's going to make me want to keep the Sledge for another year or two just cuz I got cool tires he wants these on his truck I do want those on my truck he always wants he wants everything bigger bigger smaller smaller smaller and of course hey you guys we're located in Minnesota and pomps is our go-to place we've used pomps for years they've always treated us real well so Dayton rims are the split rims that are super dangerous they basically will kill you and they they would still do it for us so they were good folks always been good so if you're in the Twin Cities go for pumps the tire professionals and no they're not paying me to say that they've just been good right Tim yeah when I'm doing a demolition job and I'm climbing over trunks of concrete and asphalt and sticks and rocks that harder rubber of a dirt tire is not going to rip and tear but if you put this snow tire in those conditions you're going to Che through those tires pretty fast but what you're telling me is this softer rubber will last longer unlik asphalt and pavement that is absolutely correct if you look at the heart compounds operated on on the heart surfaces so if you take the Earth moov compound and you drive it on the road you will actually see that the compound is polished on a surface and it's it's literally disappearing in front of your eyes if you spend a lot of time on on the road but the soft compounds they Flex more they generate less heat less surface heat and they just withstand better that rolling on the TAC you sing like a little pom jingle you got that can you add the PM jingle wa is there a palom stringle make one up right now on fly make one up when your tires going flat and you don't know what to do call Pumps right away and they'll be out to you Pomp's Tire it's the place to be Pomp's Tire call right away now your turn no no no I I seen if you had a jingle no do it no don't be a pansy do it I'm being a pansy I I don't have nothing all right all right you got to do it you got to do it do it do it do it no come on W I'll get the beat going then wouldn't it make sense if like guys that are working at transfer stations or anywhere where the a loader or a machine's not going to really go offro but going to stay on a heart Sur like aser pavement wouldn't they want to use a Haka palui on that kind of surface instead of a dirt Tire if it's going to last longer absolutely they are going to last longer and there's actually another aspect to these radial tires and that is a rolling resistance these radio tires the way they are designed plus the softer compound they actually roll way easier on the hard surface than than the heavy hard Earth moving tires so on top of the fact that these Stars will last longer on the tarmac they actually going to roll easier and they're going to save you on fuel now saving on fuel is something that is really hard to measure if you have a one vehicle but if you have a whole Fleet of them and you really pay attention to it you start to realize how much money you can save on a fuel if you operate the Right Tires on your vehicles on the tourament well you you're going to have to have that dialed in pretty good cuz you got a good operator he's going to save a fuel versus a bad operator so that would be I would imagine pretty hard to uh to measure but heck that's something I didn't even know so this is the right way to do it you got to use a crane to change these ones with a snap ring so nobody gets hurt that is [Music] correct [Music] little better than ether huh yeah use that that shit's dangerous [Music] and the boom truck is put in place like that so that ring can't pop off and kill you right yeah it'll just help deflect it you know all right one last thing jury did we miss anything about these tires that we need to know what I would like to say is these products did not fall from the sky no and tires has been making winter tires for trucks for passenger cars and for special equipment for 90 years um loaders and tractors are the primary Tools in Europe for removing the snow so we have been making these tires for over three decades they become continuously develop them so it is not that we just come and say okay there's a hole in the market we're just going to throw something at it and see if it sticks there's a really huge amount of experience and a large Fleet of really happy customers and I think everybody who puts a proper winter tire on their truck on their wife's car or on their equipment do themselves a huge favor puts their smile in their face when they need to hit that break and the Machine actually stops yeah there's there's no comparison I've ran winter tires uh you know just offbrand winter tires like true offbrand winter tires U my skid loaders and it's a night and day comparison so to have one that's actually developed uh I'm actually pumped all I need now is a little bit of winter and uh we're going to go out and have some fun but I want to say hey thank you to Jerry um for coming on and walking us through this thing so Jerry thank you for your time today oh you're are welcome I hope you guys get some snow I hope so too all right guys stay on the line Jerry all right guys that's Jerry the Creator and designer of the Haka poies himself so I hope you guys have enjoyed this video um I wish I had more snow that I could show you these things in action but I will tell you right now Guys Mother Nature in Minnesota always evens out when we have a low year it means we're going to have a high year the next year and I'm a little scared of what could be coming down the pipeline but I hope your guys' weather has cooperated with you and Blended everything out because just the normal average years the ones that we can typically handle so I hope this video has helped you out if it has a thumbs up goes a long way and uh as always let me know what tires you guys run are you running Haka paludis are you running something else what has been your experience but that's going to call it for this video God bless you guys go get them we'll catch you on another one all right thanks guys what's your YouTube channel dirt monkey dirt
