Not Good!

now some of you guys have gotten pissed at me lately because I'm talking about tough subjects and you're telling me that I'm getting a little too political well actually I'm not trying to talk about politics but I am talk trying to talk about the real things that impact contractors business owners guys that are trying to make a living like you and I so if the things I say kind of bother you maybe you need to toughen up a little bit buttercup cuz today's video isn't going to be any better you're going to probably end up getting pissed at me and I'm perfectly fine with that so before we get into today's video Let's back this up a little bit in 2007 the economy was booming everybody was working you couldn't hire enough guys fast enough and in 2008 a new Administration came in and in fact the current president of our current Administration happened to be B bvp back then and the economy tanked do you see a pattern if you do that's on you I'm just saying I notice patterns as a business owner that's my job is to notice patterns the economy tanked so many businesses W under it was an absolute failure I am talking about megas siiz development corporations that I had thought were infallible completely disappeared within one year all development work just shut down and I had positioned myself earlier in 2007 I had completely changed my position on business I was in growth stage just boom go go go go go higher higher higher and before 2008 struck I had brought my top Echelon into the company my top dogs and I said hey look we're going to make a very strategic change we are going to cut our business by 50% next year we're eliminating all of the fat all of the excess we are going to run lean and mean if anybody isn't operating up to 110% efficiency they're gone and my top guys looked at me like I was dumb right they're just like what are you doing because they had just thought the trend was going to continue on and I had cut all this excess fat off and the economy crashed and my business went from here to exactly half and my profits had went from here to here I didn't lose a dime and I did half of the work now the economy is still tanking it's still going down faster than the Titanic right and I'm like all right what I did in 2007 into 2008 worked let's tighten up that ship even more so as the economy is tanking my business went from here Dro down more but my profits went from here up I actually gained profits and the things I did was a lot of little things and I'll talk to you a little bit more about that later on in the video but I'm going to show you in a real life example of some of the ways you can tighten up your ship so in today's video I'm going to show you a system that completely eliminates the need for a trailer now some of you guys will still need a trailer but some of you guys are Towing around a trailer that you don't need you've got extra insurance you've got extra tires you've got extra brakes you've got extra maintenance you've got extra wiring you've got extra liability by having a big trailer on the back that you may have somebody out running a trailer for you that maybe shouldn't be running a trailer because they're not quite qualified to run a trailer I mean you know what guys maybe it's just me and you guys tell me if you're seeing this too but Common Sense isn't as common as it used to be and in fact I'm finding that it's becoming almost a rarity a scarcity that you pay premium dollar for I would pay more personally for someone with a lot of common sense and I didn't I don't want a college degree don't give me a college degree don't give me a person with a college degree because to me it feels like they almost come in with a preconceived notion that they're worth more because they've got this one piece of paper that says they accomplished something I would rather have a guy that comes in and says hey I've done this this this and this I can do these things and just lays it straight out and lays it to tells you honestly who they are and what they can and what they can't do I love it when I have guys that come in and say hey I don't know if I should do that I don't feel comfortable doing that versus the guy that goes yeah I can do that and then wrecks something that's just me but you guys tell me what you guys are thinking now let's jump into today's video and then I'm going to come back and talk to you a little bit more about what I'm seeing trend-wise and what I'm doing to prepare and I want to hear what you guys are thinking for sure this video is about you guys so comment down below and let's share good bad and in between and if you don't like what I'm saying well it is what it is I'm going to start laying out the truth whether you like me or not so let's keep [Music] coats and now they have a new one called the sport model and it's for smaller pickup trucks okay built by resource [Music] yeah. Frankie does not like full-size trucks and Frankie got a brand new one this is going to be your your Beast so and Frankie wants to head up the uh shoveling crew which is fine and dandy with us heck yeah but I don't want him lifting snow blowers in out of his truck so I got him a ramp rack but I didn't get him the full big ramp rack has two models they got a full big one that you can drive mowers up everything else up and it's for fullsize pickup trucks and now they have a new one called the sport model and it's for smaller pickup truck so the main base actually has the pin Let's see we want to slide it back a little bit Frankie yeah she's in oh okay so she connects with the pin in the hitch right there right and then there's two clamps that go onto each one of these to stabilize it on the sides so like this right yep so that's how you actually tighten it onto the that's how it stays on right yep forward okay I tighten them up which way do you want to set it in the back just like this yeah like that that's pie and what are these the L the Locking latches yeah going like I believe like so and then this will go in here [Music] that [Music] all right installation is complete so when it goes up it latches automatically but let's watch her go down and then let's see how she actually does I was a little hesitant about this one it's actually been sitting here in my yard now for a bit we didn't need to use use it for cuz we didn't have snow but here we go that is a nice ramp that's a really nice ramp but let's see how a snowblower goes up it all right guys I'm going to break in here cuz in a minute we're going to watch and see exactly how well this ramp works but what I'm showing you are little things that add up to Big results it's not about making a big giant dramastic cut all at once it's about taking time and precaution to make sure that you're preptin ready now I want to hear from you guys what do you guys think is going to happen I believe we're firmly in unprecedented times I've never seen anything like what we are experiencing right now happening I'm talking about an unprecedented amount of undocumented I hate that word they come into the country illegally if they're if they're coming in illegally we can't say illegal I mean I don't get it but we've got all these undocumented people coming into the country and these are 8 million that's the technical number some people projected closer to 22 million people coming in that are going to be competing for our jobs and they're not going to be competing at the high level they're not coming in as doctors lawyers they're coming in at the entry level jobs that are going to be competing against you Carpenters framers they're going to be coming in um handymen uh Lawn Care these are guys that we are directly competing against so we've got to be able to tighten up our own belts because some way shape or form there's going to be a Tipping Point there's going to be a point where everything starts to shift before it normalizes again that's at least what I think is going to happen you can't have more people we've had more people come in than we have 33 states in the union everything's got to rebalance out now I'm not saying it's bad to have all these people coming in but I'm also not saying it's good for us the people that are already here to have all of these people coming in I'm not going to say that oneway shape or form because it will be trouble until it Smooths out that's what I firmly believe but what do you guys think and what are you guys doing to help put yourself into a better position as the difficult times the waves start to come our way because everything happens slowly right it's not just it happens and then boom it happens right away what you see is all these things adding up and then the waves start to happen kind of like a tsunami right it hits and then it builds builds builds builds builds and then it crashes and right now it's hit it's going to build and then I don't know about a crash do you guys think we're facing a crash I'd love to hear from you guys that's what my two that's my two cents I firmly believe as a business owner as a contractor as a guy doing what we do our job as owner you guys is to look ahead not look ahead two or three months we have to look ahead two or three years and the best guys are looking ahead five years there's always a Five-Year Plan you've probably heard that before but all of successful hyper successful people I've ever interviewed they're not living in the now they're not living in the season they're living a half a decade or further out and projecting where things are at because they're putting a pin pin point up here and they're aiming at this pinpoint they're not putting a pinpoint here and then another one here and doing this they're putting it up here and they're roller coaster riding all the way up here but they've got to be able to compensate for the big hits along the way that's been my experience I've had the blessing of talking to so many hyper successful people we're not talking about millionaires I'm talking about people that have gone from zero to building a billion plus dollar company in less than n years I've talked to these guys I I know them so I'm looking at what they do at the trends and the habits that they're performing and trying to bring that not just to my own company but to share that knowledge with you because these guys that are doing this they don't go on YouTube they don't go on social media they don't talk about it because they don't need to they're busy making fortunes so if I get a chance to talk to them and share what they're learning so that we can a rising tide raises All Ships a rising tide raises All Ships if we can all get better together that's my goal right but sometimes it's just a bitter truth sometimes we just got to lay it straight out there all right let's get back into this video but I really need to hear from you guys what you're doing to prep what you think is coming down the pipeline what you're seeing and uh we'll go from there but let's see how this ramp Works in a real world situation let's take a uh let's take this snowblower up to the top of it and see how she performs you know a lawnmower go up surface a lot easier than a snow blower [Music] yeah I like the fact that I'm I'm thinking about when it's snowing and icy and everything do you think that ramp's going to be slickery that you're standing on there I don't think so not with the diamond or the the Diamond plating on it yeah the mes all right let's see how Let's Fold it up once let's watch it fold up you just leave your snow just like we're going to work so you got your snow blower in let's just see how she folds up I think you can fold it right up from the back right yeah I got to kind of get in the center okay just enough room just enough enough room well I got a little bit more actually I got about 3 in I can go ahead if I had to and now it's but it's locked I mean you're you're locked and load it was that was it that's all I mean actually that's pretty nice you put a board up front there and now you're tight there and the ramp locks it in the back end of it that snowblow is not going anywhere right yeah now this is by the ramp rack built by what is that website built by resource yeah.com the the ramp there there you go but Minnesota we should have this ground completely covered in snow and we we we're out here working in uh light coats it's still not cold up you know what last I guess it makes up for last year when we
