Install Wooden Slats Iteratively
At 0:00 in
We’ve got quite a few wood details on this project so we decided to give this @thermowood a try!
What happens here
Starting from one end, take a pre-cut wooden slat and carefully position it vertically against the deck's underlying support structure. Ensure the slat is plumb using a level (if desired for precision) and snug against the adjacent slat or frame. Once properly aligned, use the pneumatic nail gun to drive multiple finish nails through the slat and into the support. The video shows nails being driven at the top and bottom of each slat. This process is repeated for each subsequent slat, working your way across the entire section. Maintain consistent alignment and a tight fit between each piece to create a seamless privacy screen. One slat shown already has a pre-cut opening for an electrical outlet.
Goal: Securely attach all wooden slats to the deck.
