What happens here
The final stage of the pergola construction involves installing the EZ GLACE polycarbonate panels by Palram onto the pergola frame. These translucent panels block 99.9% of UV rays, provide shade, and create a dry space beneath the pergola. The panels are installed directly onto the rafters, with careful attention to allowing for expansion and contraction. The installation process includes pre-drilling holes with a 3/8-inch drill bit (larger than the screw shank) and using specialized screws with oversized washers. These screws are tightened just enough to compress the washer, allowing the panel to move with temperature changes without cracking.
Goal: Install polycarbonate panels to create a shaded and dry pergola roof.
