We almost lost the queen!! Get a good look at a queen honeybee!

What happens here

Approach the hive and apply a few puffs of smoke to the entrance. Gently remove the outer cover and inner cover, applying more smoke as needed to keep the bees calm. Use a hive tool to carefully pry up and remove a central frame for inspection. Look for signs of a healthy queen (eggs, larvae, capped brood), honey stores, and pollen. If the hive is full and strong, add a new medium super (a box for honey collection) on top of the existing hive bodies. The creator inspects a frame, identifies brood and honey, and adds an 8-frame super with drawn comb.

Goal: Assess hive health and provide space for honey expansion.
