Prepare Exterior Surfaces and Mask

What happens here

Carefully mask off all areas where the silicone-based sealer should not be applied. This includes metal door jambs, any metal flashing or trim along the top edges of the walls, and the ground surface immediately adjacent to the cinder blocks. Use high-quality masking tape and paper (like FrogTape and a 3M Hand-Masker) to create clean, protected edges. This step is crucial because silicone sealers are very difficult to remove once dry and prevent other coatings (like paint) from adhering.

Goal: Before applying the sealer, all sensitive exterior areas like metal door jambs, metalwork, and the ground adjacent to the walls must be meticulously masked off to prevent unintended application.
