Drain the Water System

What happens here

Once the main water supply is off, open an outdoor hose bib located on the house to allow any remaining water in the pipes to drain out. This will release pressure from the system and prevent water from gushing out when the faulty spigot is disassembled. Keep the hose bib open until water stops flowing, indicating the system is adequately drained.

Goal: After shutting off the main water, open another outdoor hose bib or the affected one to drain residual water and relieve pressure from the system.
