Vlog 4 - Retaining Wall and Deck Board Installation

What happens here

The video begins with an introduction from one of the hosts, who explains that while he is on paternity leave, his team will handle the bulk of the work, which includes installing a retaining wall and decking. The other host then takes over, explaining the initial phase of the project, which involves digging trenches to install a drainage system. This system will collect water from three existing gutters and direct it long under the retaining wall, eventually leading it out into the woods via a pop-up drain. The patio area will also be sloped slightly towards this drainage system to ensure proper water runoff.

What's going on everybody? Welcome back to the vlog. I'm still on paternity leave, so I'm kind of bouncing in and out of the project. Appreciate everyone on their congratulations on the last video and uh the team's going to kind of run with it this week. We've got a retaining wall to put in. Uh we're going to be doing some decking. So, for the most part, I'm going to leave it in their hands and we'll see how they do. Let's go. We'll walk away with the machine so you can hear what I'm saying. But the plan for that is we got to get that drainage. Then there's three gutters going into that drain that will then along under the retaining wall and head out into the woods and nature through a popup drain, but also the patio is going to be draining onto that too. It'll be sloped just a little bit towards it. Um, it's permeable per permeable patio anyway, so a lot will just go through the patio, but what won't will fall down into this perforated pipe that we're putting down there and then it will go all into the side of the yard. So stay tuned on how that goes. But, uh, Sean's not here. So, just another strong day and I think we're going to knock this out. So, let's
