With the extension pole and spray gun properly adjusted, begin spraying the ceiling. The fundamental technique mirrors hand-held spray painting: initiate the motion of the spray gun (by moving the pole) *before* pulling the trigger to start the paint flow. Continue to maintain a consistent motion across the surface, and only *after* you have moved past the area you intend to paint, release the trigger to stop the paint flow.
