Update Your Door Hardware For A Darker, Modern Look!

What happens here

Fill a large pot with water and add one tablespoon of baking soda per quart of water. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil. Carefully place all the disassembled brass pieces into the boiling solution. Allow the brass hardware to boil for approximately one hour. This process will effectively break down and loosen the existing lacquer coating on the brass, causing it to flake off.

Goal: Boil the brass hardware in a baking soda solution for about an hour to strip off the original lacquer coating.
