Apply Brass Darkening Solution

What happens here

Place the cleaned and prepared brass hardware into a plastic or glass container (avoid aluminum, as the solution can corrode it). Pour Brass Darkening Solution (J-3499) over the pieces, ensuring they are fully submerged. Observe as the brass rapidly changes color, transforming from shiny gold to a rich, dark antique bronze. Use gloved hands to carefully flip and move pieces to ensure uniform darkening, especially in areas where air bubbles might prevent contact with the solution. Continue until the desired darkness is achieved. Small pieces like screws should also be submerged.

Goal: Submerge the cleaned brass hardware in a brass darkening solution within a plastic container until the desired antique bronze finish is achieved.
