this christy idaho painter here on paint live tv today i've got the united total sanding kit in front of me i'm going to do an unboxing video i haven't done one of these videos for i don't know like a couple years so if you want to know what's in this box this is a total sanding kit for um i feel it's great for cabinet painting so if you're in the cabinet painting and refinishing business this kit is an amazing kit something that you can get so if you want to see what's inside the magic box stay tuned for this video [Applause] [Music] all right here it is uh the total sanding solutions kit right here we're gonna unbox this thing and give you a look at what's inside this kit once again if you're in the cabinet painting or refinishing business this is a great starter kit that'll get you on your way and i'm going to show you what's inside this thing we're going to open it up begin our unboxing so it does come with a tool bag so it's nice to have a kit that everything goes into and so anita has come up with this pretty dang cool tool bag so this tool bag is going to hold your sander right here nice durable canvas tool bag just like this and get rid of the trash out of the way we all want to see what's in this box because this is the best sander there is on the planet for uh sanding cabinets doing cabinet refinishing and painting so in the box we've got um here's one little box right here and we'll find out what's in the box and it doesn't say anything on the outside of the box so we'll just look inside the box ah so we got all kinds of abrasives here so that's why it doesn't say what's on on the outside of the box because it's a mixture so we do have some film tech so film tech is a plastic abrasive right here so it's a flat plastic abrasive we got um 10 each of the 80 grit 80 grit is good for doing any type of stripping so if you need to strip paint off of cabinets if you're doing refinishing an 80 grit is something that you're going to want to have there's 180 grit um so 180 grit is kind of like in between there's a lot of things you can use it for they got ecka storm so echostorm is they're flat sandpaper that's actually paper and not plastic so the blue the film tech is plastic and it's less likely to rip or tear it's going to last a lot longer the paper it cuts absolutely amazing so if you're doing any type of stripping the paper echo sort of abrasive is great so we got 10 each of the 180 grit 120 grit we've got 10 each of 120 grit we've got um 80 grit great for stripping 150 grit so you have a lot of different grits because you're gonna you possibly could be doing a lot of different things 120 grit film tech 150 grit film tech now we've got another box let's check out what's in this box this one is a very fine super fine eka silk so these are flat abrasives for any type of any type of flat sanding any type of stripping you want to have flat abrasives if you're trying to get rid of wood grain stuff like that you definitely want to be using flat abrasives when you're sanding in between coats you want to probably be using a flat abrasive are you enjoying the video so far are you finding it helpful hit the subscribe button hit the notification bell that way you'll get notified every time we come out with more of this free content and now let's get back to the video now we've got our five millimeter these are five millimeter sponges right here we've got the grits we've got fine very fine and super fine of five millimeter and some of you might wonder what the heck would you ever use a five millimeter sponge for so your sponges this is a closed cell sponge so it's dense sponges have a tendency to contour to edges this is not a very thick sponge but for shaker style doors and um shaker stylus doors that don't have a very deep depth to them this sponge type of sponge will run along the edge of the shaker cell door and it's not gonna your sand or itself the pad on your center is not gonna hit the edge of that vibrate damage the edge of your sander or the edge of the door so if you're doing any type of shaker style doors so in repainting you're running into a lot of different contours a lot of different edges a lot of different styles of doors so it's good to have a lot of different types of abrasives five millimeters something you probably want to have so there's five millimeter sponges once again fine uh very fine super fine uh here is a closed cell 10 millimeter sponge so this is gonna be kind of like a five millimeter sponge uh it's for shake us shaker style doors and this is gonna be a deeper routed edge on a shaker style door or um you know door that's uh whatever sunk in i don't know whatever word we're gonna use for that but this is a box we've got a box of the um i don't know how many is in this let's check and see it doesn't have a count so it comes with 2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16 of the 5 millimeter sponges and then it comes with we got 3 9 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 of your 10 millimeter sponges so it's good to have a white a wide variety of different abrasives because you're going to probably be doing a lot of different things so you want to have something for everything we've got a pad saver and right here so inside the kit you have a pad saver if you're on your sander you can put this on your sander then your abrasive attached to that so you don't damage the hook and loop on your sander if you're burning through your abrasives like your paper braces and stuff this could save your um hook and loop from getting um i'm getting damaged to it we've got interface pads right here we've got a open cell interface pad we've got a closed cell interface pad you can hook this to the hook and loop part of your sander and i'll show you that when i open up the sander and this will you can take flat abrasives either paper or film tech attach it to the hook and loop and now you can turn a flat abrasive into a basically a five millimeter or ten millimeter um sponged abrasive that will contour to edges now here's another box we've got um ekka silk half inch um sponges and all these um abrasives also have holes for vacuums so you can attach it to your vacuum so you're doing dust free sanding now we've got a box of uh super fine looks like we got fine super fine and what else is in here very fine um open cell half inch sponges these are absolutely amazing to do contouring to any rounded edge routed edge just about every single door you're going to run into cabinet door you're going to have some type of contoured a routed edge and these things just contour to those edges and make it so you don't have to do any manual hand sanding so you got it with a 3x4 sander something you definitely want to have is your half inch sponges now that's all that's in the box there so this is our whole sanding kit and of course sanding kit comes with the most important part and that is our ekkasan 3x4 chandra once again this is simply the best sander you possibly could ever have when it comes to cabinet refinishing absolutely amazing i do get people ask well what about merca what about festool yeah they make great sanders too but none of them make a three by four sander so this profile the small profile is absolutely amazing for doing cabinets cabinet doors getting in around small spaces nothing beats this three by four sander now once again this is a hook and loop sander here's your pad saver pad saver just hooks right on there now you'll save your hook and loop apart from you're getting damages it comes into play when you've got employees not paying attention to their abrasives this is where you can hook on your interface pad now you can put a flat abrasive on the top of that and you basically turn a flat abrasive into a foam abrasive very simple um and easy to do with these components because it comes with this are our clips to take and clip your hose um to your cord so that way your cord's not laying around anywhere or not laying around but i guess it's attached to your vacuum hose and not in the way it comes with a allen wrench right there for removing your pad if you do need to remove the pad if you get any damage to that now all this stuff that's um handily these abrasives on the boxes you don't have to put the boxes in on the bag they all won't fit in the bag but a lot of your braces will fit down in this bag your sander is going to fit in the bag and now your sander is going to be kept neat and tidy not going to get damaged inside the bag there it is an unboxing video what's inside the total sanding kit this is a kit that really is going to get you on the way if you buy a 3x4 sander it's going to be great for um i use my 3x4 sander for cabinet painting i do um inside of a house any type of sanding on trim i'm always
