TREASURE HUNT IN A P TRAP #nasty
What happens here
After thoroughly cleaning the P-trap, carefully align the U-bend section back into its original position, connecting it to the vertical tailpiece extending from the sink drain and the horizontal pipe leading to the wall drain. Ensure the rubber washers (if present) are correctly seated within the slip nuts or on the pipe ends to prevent leaks. Once aligned, hand-tighten both slip nuts by turning them clockwise until they are snug. It is crucial not to overtighten plastic slip nuts, as this can strip the threads or crack the plastic, leading to leaks. Hand-tightening is generally sufficient to create a watertight seal. After reassembly, it is recommended to run water slowly and check for any leaks around the connections.
Goal: Align the cleaned P-trap U-bend back into position and hand-tighten both slip nuts to secure it, ensuring a snug fit.
