What happens here
Once the first coat is completely dry, lightly sand all painted surfaces again. Use a finer grit sanding paper (e.g., 220-320 grit) on the orbital sander for flat areas and a sanding block for edges. This step helps to smooth out any slight imperfections, nibs, or dust that may have settled on the first coat, ensuring a silky-smooth finish for the subsequent coats. After sanding, clean the surfaces thoroughly with a tack cloth to remove all dust.
