Tip stopping paint bleed on your floor when painting trim! #paintingtips #howto #paintingtrim
What happens here
Once the baseboards are installed with the gap created in the previous step, and you are ready to paint, take sheets of masking paper. Apply FrogTape or another high-quality painter's tape along one edge of the masking paper. This combination will be used to protect your finished flooring. Thanks to the gap created during installation, you can easily slide the masking paper with the tape attached underneath the baseboard. Ensure the tape adheres firmly to the floor just below the baseboard, completely sealing the gap and covering the adjacent flooring. Repeat this process along the entire length of the baseboards, overlapping sheets of masking paper as needed, until all areas of the floor adjacent to the baseboards are protected. This method ensures that paint will not bleed onto your brand new flooring, resulting in a clean and professional finish.
Goal: Protect finished flooring from paint during baseboard painting
