Timber Crew Building our farm! Pasture Planning, clearing land!

What happens here

The drone provides a panoramic view of the recently cleared land, which is designated as the front pasture. It shows a cleared powerline cutaway acting as a boundary. A larger cleared field, estimated at 9-12 acres, is highlighted. The narrator explains that specific tree species, such as hickory, maple, and various oaks, were intentionally left standing to provide shade and habitat for cattle and wildlife, demonstrating a thoughtful approach to land management.

Goal: Aerial footage reveals the extent of the cleared land, including a powerline cutaway and a large field, with explanations on the selective retention of certain tree species for shade and wildlife.

[Music] goes all right guys so as we fly over here this is out the front door this is going to be our front pasture and we're flying out this is a little power line cutaway that we have uh that goes in between my house and my neighbor's house and basically it terminates at my neighbors and goes back behind the camera here to my yard this is an area of field that we're clearing out right here I'm going to say it's approximately yeah I'm going to say maybe 9 to 10 maybe 12 acres right here I haven't really measured it with my online measuring tool but every tree you see that's left in place is left in place on purpose basically left trees for shade for uh cattle and for Wildlife those are uh hickories and Maples and white oak trees and some red oak trees this machine is called a skitter basically we'll fly up above the skitter here the skitter uh is what drags the logs basically there are several cutting machines that are working out here and they cut the trees and lay them down for the skitter and the skitter drags the logs back over to the uh Lumber processing area
