hey Nick what smell this nuh I don't smell fingers just just don't even I mean you have no I don't trust you I'm not smelling it it's gross come on just no you wouldn't be you seeds love love give them love let them love each other let them touch and intermix and mingle with each other they should legitimately just be touching good morning one and all so if you low Lawns make Tall Grass short for a living in just a moment I'm going to show you a machine that will take your existing customer base and give you five to 10 times the amount of profit on that same customer that you get when you're cutting their l and I'm going to bring in a product expert because that's what I like to do that's my Mo I like to talk to the actual people that know so without wasting any more time I'm going to introduce you right now and then we're going to go out and give this thing a test run and see exactly how well it operates let's go all right guys we are looking at a brand new unit I just picked this up and I've got Jared with me right now Jared's from Toro how are you Jared I'm great Stan how are you today good so what we're looking at is a core oration unit with an optional seed spreader added on and I call these things the profit makers and what I mean is when you do go to do coration and with over seating you can charge take your mowing price and multiply by five and some cases you can multiply it by 10 and get that much profit so units like this are especially profitable not only do we have Jared visiting in our video today but we also have pumpkin hi pumpkin you're hanging out with us today yeah Jared said you're bad luck shame on you we'll see how this goes he's the second person in the last week that goes uhoh black cat bad luck best cat I've ever had good Farm cat first starting off is is this guy right here so basically that controls your times so as you're going along to put down Force pressure on and take out plugs you push your foot down okay right and then when you're going over a um you know an irrigation head or you turn around or going over a sidewalk or over pavement release your foot ties come out so the ties physically come out of the ground so as you're rolling forward you're you're not clipping those things not doesn't just shut them off and Freewheel them it lifts them up so that you're not causing damage to something you don't want exactly core air rated like a sprinkler head yes okay and the adjustment for the broadcast sprad now that's an option right that's a $18 $1,900 add-on yeah on fleet pricing it's $1850 okay so that's an add-on and then here is where we have the controls for it so we can actually control the [Music] speed from zero is off up to 10 you're rocking and rolling with that thing you got to be moving at a pretty good clip absolutely and then you also another feature you know if you want to want to close it Off You Pull It in the locks into place so you just simply close it you you you don't want it you want to show me how that works I only got one hand jar okay so there's your deflection Shield so you can lock off a side you control your spinner um speed right up in here and then also the the the deflection the amount of seed that comes out is right here from the least amount all the way up and these are all mechanical so you actually you can buy this without this and then throw this on after the fact you just got to hook up your Mechanical Services to make sure that it's all functioning properly correct exactly and another another digital feature is is the depth that you're you're pulling your cores out with so you can go anywhere from you know 1 to 5 in so if you want so all you got to do is go boom you could go 5 in 4 in three all the way down and have it raised all the way up it's just a straightforward click the button to get her to go and I I see we've got less pressure Arrow more pressure Arrow but what does that actually do so so another feature of this machine that makes it stand out is when you think about you know if it's just you and you're running it all the time that's one thing right you can set it you can calibrate it to your weight every time you get on it it's it's the same it's the same depth because if you get somebody that's let's say 300 lb right the machine is going to run lower versus somebody that's 100 lb so you can calibrate it based on weight so that you can have that exact cord depth you know if you want to set at 5 in you can calibrate it for that 100 lb person so it'll core at 5 in oh so there's no guess work to it and you're getting it right where you want it no matter what the weight of the operator is and what are we looking at for a warranty and what are we looking at for a price on a unit like this okay so every unit comes with a kisi engine you're looking at a one-year warranty and a three-year warranty on the engine okay you've got uh sizes we have a 24 in this is a 30in model okay and this unit's about $1,100 on Elite flea prices okay and we are looking at a dedicated core aration unit with another $1,800 $1900 bump on for a broadcast seed spreader and the reason I bought this is I don't plan on going out and doing coration but I've got an area up north where I'm going to be renting my property out and everybody parks there and it's a it's a grass area and I want to try to keep it grass so my plan is to be be core air rating that thing and being able to over seat it and this is a great way to fix up a nasty lawn and to get it to look halfway decent so I'll be doing this entire property everything you see out here with this bad boy so I was pumped about getting this one yeah this will this will do a great job for you happy with it what else do we need to know about this thing Jarett you know I think I think that covers really the main points I mean overall it's a it's a very durable machine again we've got a got a good warranty on it it's we've had this unit out for a while so it's had a lot of runtime and um it it performs well so tried in trude tested perfected they people know what they're getting you either love them you hate them but at least you're getting something that is not a mistake that somebody else has made down the road so these things have been out there doing what they got to do over and over again such a good machine a black cat likes it yeah over there I'm not sure it's good or bad all right the next thing we have to do is go out and do a lot of work with it so we're going to do that out there we're going to do that in here we're going to be over seaing this entire area we're going to be bringing this property back up to where it needs to be the only thing I I could say could be done different better would be to put a the cedar in the back so that as your core air rating as you're moving forward you're dropping the seeds and your holes and not vice versa but that's just the old farmer and me going hey wouldn't that work better if we did it bass award no I got you anything else anything else comes up on or any input from your subscribers watching I mean by way we look at the comments we take them all into consideration so you know thanks for watching and thanks for having me out here St is this on your website yes so you go to toro.com and you can look this up and you can find out more information on these absolutely awesome thanks Jared all right thank you Stan okay now I have a question for you guys this is a chain Drive Unit now there are other options out there that don't run on chains and some people don't want chains and some people do want chains which category are you guys in personally me I prefer a chain Drive Unit because I can look down I can visually see what's happening with my unit I grew up putting chains on my bikes I know how to tighten them I know how to maintain them I know what they look like with when they're running right and I know what they look like when I got to do something to them to me that makes sense some of you guys like the hydraulic units where everything is enclosed if that's your case let me know what the benefits are and if you've ran both let me know what you think this is on you guys now I want to hear that the next thing I'm going to do is go out and put her to work so let's get on that right now but before we do that let's hear a message from Angela from Toro Horizon 360 all right guys we're going to jump into our video here cuz I'm actually at Toro headquarters even as we speak and um this is a paid promoted video by Toro and I wanted to take a moment to tell you guys about Toro's brand new program that they have out called Horizon 360 and guys this is Angela and she actually helped develop this program right out of the gate yep yep directly from contractor feedback so we've got a lot of different features available but I want to kind of hone in on estimating to start with so as you guys are growing and getting new customers this is going to be a great way for you to come in and virtually map out those properties you don't have to physically go out there and walk it add whatever Services materials labor rates whatever you need to do on there it's going to do the math for you and automatically kick it out to that customer so that you can get it on your schedule so it will do the it will take the measurements it will take your rates that you want and it will calculate your estimate for you exactly so for you guys that aren't quite sure on what your number should be on a job this will do all of that math for them yep and compare it to what you're actually uh costing you to actually purchase those materials or perform those Services as well so you know your gross margins and you know that you're coming out ahead so as we look over here it's telling me that on this site right here I've got 191,000 Square ft of mowing yep exactly I've got almost not quite 2,000 square fet of trimming and pruning exactly and it just does it all does it all for you all you have have to do is Click your mouse around the area that you need and inclusion or exclusion zones and you're ready to go and then here it's telling us our average hourly wage so you can put in your hourly wage your crew size estimated amount of time exactly so you can dial it in but this thing does more than this you also have routing you also have GPS trackers which go onto the equipment yep they do which allows a guy from the office or a G from the office to be able to know what's going on with their equipment where your equipment is how much they're being used each day um how making sure that they're not being used where they're not supposed to be as well and making sure that you're also automating those maintenance tasks also okay so uh where did gu what well first off what does it cost yes we've got three tiers we've got a free one $99 or $1.99 a month but right now we've got a six-month promo so that's the unlimited that's that top tier um I think it's just dirt monkey is our promo code and you'll get six months spre of the top tier the top tier you got it nice okay and then where do guys find out more information about this they're just going to go to Horizon 360. toro.com Horizon 360. toro.com you got it all right let's jump back into our regularly scheduled program not all grass seed is created equal and I'm at a big box store and we're going to go inside and we're going to show you what to look for when you're you're buying and picking out your grass seed for your location when you're shopping for grass seed make sure you're able to get a perennial and not an annual an annual will typically be a lot cheaper than a perennial and also just look for your packaging a lot of times they'll charge more for fancy your packaging here's where it gets interesting we have a 40 lb bag of contractor mixed grass seed for $69.99 and we have a 25 lb bag of sun and shade mix grass seed made by the same company for $5 more now I'm getting 15 lb less seed and I'm paying $5 more what's the difference this is where you look at your ingredient list just like you look at what's in your soup you're going to look at what's in your grass seat I have I have Jessup T Fescue BT tall fescue golf annual Ry grass and minute minute map so does this bag have better grass seed well looks like I got BT tall fescue Legato perennial Ry grass and rebel tall rescue back at the site Zach was supposed to be smoothing out the ground so we could go to work with the seed let's see how that went the way that one is compared to your big one all the you got to do this and that you got about need about three hands in order to operate it and going backwards we all know you operate like this all the time anyway I thought would that would feel natural to you well yeah trying to use the control push the push the all-wheel drive and steer it and try and not smash into anything fair enough right here this is where we park all the trailers so we're going to give it a shot with no seed let's just see it let's put her on the maximum compaction depth and what do you weigh like 35 lb soaking wet and he's actually wearing shorts he doesn't have his winter winter uh clothes on he's got them with yeah he's got them with he always does I always got him he's always got his winter clothes on with is Minnesota I've got the pressure turned all the way up and I'm going at the deepest step just so we can see what this can do so back off Z [Music] [Applause] [Music] so we're pulling out we got it on the deepest setting so that's how deep of a plug we're pulling out and then once we combine this with the broadcast spreader what's going to happen is that's going to spread that seed out it's going to bring these plugs to the surface the seed's going to drop into the holes and this stuff is going to loosen up and go over the top so it's almost like a farmer using a drop seater this is where Zach jumps in and goes oh my God we're going to talk about Farm Craft go ahead Z well yeah you need cultivator and then and you need a seeder and all that other stuff okay so the only issue is when you go 5 in deep it when when you're putting that much seed down that low she's probably going to have a issue trying to grow up through that so we don't want to go that deep I just wanted to see what it could do so let's dial it in here and then we'll bring it out there and now one of the questions is when do you want a core air rate and when do you want to dech this is a great question and I think we need to address that so as Zach pouring seed in I'll explain the difference coration is perfect for compacted areas that you need to loosen up that soil High foot traffic dethatching is more designed to pull up this the dead grass and vegetation that has matted below the grass let's just take a look this needs dethatching this is suffocating the lawn right here okay you need to come in and deat this area cuz the grass is just not going to grow here now if I deat over here I will loosen up the ground but not the same as coration this has been compacted this is dead because I've put all of my equipment here and I need to get bring it back to life I can say for certain that your lawn will almost always benefit from coration but not all Lawns will benefit from dethatching in fact some lawns need a little bit of their thatch left what are are you having an issue Zach well I just don't want to dump it all out the bottom of it cuz the gate the gate's wide open on it that's smartless you want to waste all the seed no nope don't want to waste the seeds so let's close her [Music] up good bad and this is the best the seeds should just be touching but not drowning each other out they actually kill each other when they're this tight but your seeds if they're like this are too far apart they need a little company your seeds love love give them love let them love each other let them touch and intermix and mingle with each other they should legitimately just be touching way [Music] we're going to mix our own blend so we're going to use a equal amount of Northern blend with that party lawn and then uh we're going to go out there and get that whole hill done out there [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] right that was great I got perfect coverage look at that ground at I got perfect coverage entire property everywhere you look that is the best distribution of seed that I could imagine that is uh exactly what we wanted all right now what I'm going to do is I'm going to go back through and I'm going to corate everything right back in when the rains come what's going to happen is it's going to wash the seeds into our holes and and keep our seeds in place instead of like if we just left this smooth graded and seated it it would just wash all the seeds down into the swap so to get the best possible results I seated it first and then I went back and Core a rated it later and we're going to see exactly how well this concept Works in just a few minutes cuz coming back to the site and checking it [Music] [Applause] out all right guys I'm going to jump into this video before we end it because for the last 10 to 15 days we've had almost continual rains on a daily basis and right now we're under a flash flood warning so the seed that I laid down in this video should have washed away and here it is right here this is the exact area and you can see exactly how all of those that coration everywhere I corated it just gathered and held those seeds in place you can all you can actually see the lines in the ground it is the best results I've had from seating that I've ever done this machine did everything I wanted it to to do plus some and this is only after 10 days what are you doing look at you you are a gorgeous one you are thick oh you going to bite me you going to bite me get me get me get me oh you got me you got me you got me oh you got oh you're so mean who's such a mean snake oh you're such a mean snake oh yes oh who such a mean snake are you a mean snake oh you're just a big mean yes you are who's a big mean snake who's a big mean snake yes you're a big mean snake you're just so brutal oh yes oh yeah you're babies oh look at you you're a big one yeah you're pretty all right well I'll let you keep going thanks for Jing all over my hand and making me smell like crap though you run off and do what you got to do but look at the results that this lawn has had wow I don't even know what to say this is phenomenal this is be beyond my expectations this should not be looking like this so even so consistent so I mean as I'm looking I I feel like a farmer that just planted a field I've got all of this just completely laid out this is going to grow in and this is just the start of it but let's get back into the video back into the timeline where we were when we were first doing this and wrap this thing up see you then I got to go wash my hands freaking hate the smell of garter sakes do you guys hate the smell of garter snakes I can't stand the smell of garter snakes look at the ground though look at that unreal unreal consistency it's not skips it's not runs it's not all bunched up in one spot 10 days of rain this should look terrible terrible this looks phenomenal you ever have a smell that you absolutely hate but you can't help but keep smelling it and you try to stop yourself but you do it anyway freaking hate the smell of g s hey Nick what smell this nuh I don't smell fingers just just don't even I mean you have to I don't trust you I'm not smelling it it's gross come on just no you wouldn't be asking me to if it wasn't gross just tell guess what it is away I promise you it's it's not poop okay um it's snake goo yeah how did you know that minder oh you like that smell what they do want to roll in [Laughter] it you going to lick that gross do that wash you going to lick that go ahead lick that lick that bear you can do it you can do it all right well that's it for this one you guys uh I'm going to finish up doing what I got to do and I hope whatever you guys are…
