All right, guys. A lot of content creators will tell you that they're not biased about the brand of equipment they run, but they get bought out by the brand. They get free trips by the brand. They get offered all of these exclusive exclusivities by the brand. And my job is always I viewed it to not be that kind of a person, but to go out and experiment with everything that's out there because there may be other options that are perfect for you guys that the other content creators aren't showing because they've got a vested interest in this one brand that gives them the free trips, that gives them all of these exclusivities. And I'm not going to do that with you. So today we're going to look at the Hyundai loader because they are making some very big bold claims. One of the best warranties in class, the best standard equipment in class. A price that's 15, 20 plus or more% lower than the upper echelon of loaders. And they've got their sites aimed directly at the big dogs in this industry. And I want to ask the actual rep right from Hyundai the hard questions that you guys may be asking. If you're going to go out and spend a hundred to $300,000 on a new piece of equipment, why would you want to do that? So, let's dive into today's video and start asking some of these questions that maybe you guys would want to hear about. >> But to do that, I've got Ed from Hyundai here. How are you, Ed? >> Good. Good to be here. >> Can you tell me what you do with Hyundai, please? I'm the Midwest District Sales Manager for Hyundai. >> Okay. So, when we're looking at a Hyundai, why would a guy consider one of these over all all the other alternatives out there that are available right now? >> Well, and I think when we get a chance to go over everything, I can explain why Hyundai is one of the best the best value on the market for wheel loaders. >> What does that exactly mean? because that is a very wide open term >> in terms of performance, in terms of reliability, in terms of standard features, the great warranty. When you wrap the performance, the warranty, the features all together, I think it's the best value. >> Performance, warranty, features. Where do you want to start? >> Uh, we can start up at the front of the machine and work our way to the back. >> All right, let's do it. Okay, so what are we looking at in the front? So the Hyundai loaders um come standard with u an ISO style quick coupler. Okay. >> So um actually you can configure our loaders with any quick coupler that you'd like to but the the Hyundai quick coupler ISO quick coupler from the factory uh is uh very economical for the customer. Has a really good price point. >> What's the other options out there and why is this better than what the other guys are offering? So, so from uh from this there's a another um coupler that customers use a lot is is the the JRB style >> JRB style, ACS style. But I think I think um the thing that sets this one apart from the Hyundai perspective is that it it come it comes from the factory. So all all the plumbing the coupler comes directly from the factory. So if you can utilize the ISO coupler, it's just a it's a good benefit. So then since it's coming directly from the factory, it's covered under the factory warranty and a guy doesn't have to do any modifications which could then become a question down the road. >> That's that's an excellent point. Thank you very much. That's right. So basically the Hyundai coupler, you know, from the factory would have this the same 3ear 3,000 hour warranty that the machine has. >> Okay. Yeah. >> All right. So we're in the front. What else do we want to look at while we're up here? So, um, this happens to be an extended reach loader. >> So, the loader arms are about a foot and a half longer. This is a 940 XT. Um, and then the standard machine would just be a a 940. >> Perfect. Why would a guy want an XT over just the standard? >> So, for the XT, basically, it's for extended reach applications where maybe you've got to push snow up a little bit higher. Okay. You know, the advantage of a standard machine with the standard loader arms would basically be turning radius and a able to maneuver a little bit. >> Is there any difference in quality and digging between the two? >> So, if you're going to put the loader arms out a little further, you are going to lose a a little bit of performance. >> Okay. So, how are you going to lose performance in the day in the breakout force? Because my experience has been when my loader arms are out more forward, it gives me from way up in the cab the ability to look down and see exactly where I'm at. I prefer them out further because I know where my cutting edges are at. I know where my bucket is at where when they're really tight, you're almost guessing. >> Yeah. Okay. >> So, Yep. So, so from that that that's an excellent point, you know, to have it out further so you got, you know, better visibility to the attachment. So going from an XT machine, you are going to lose a little little bit in terms of tipping load. Okay. >> So but but to your point in in this application, if it's a better suit to have the extended reach loader arms, then I I think it's a great advantage. >> If you were going into an aggregate pit and buying this to load trucks day in and day out, which one would you pick? >> So I prefer the extended reach machine. Basically, it's going to help you get, you know, more closer to the center of the truck. A lot of times you don't have to press up as as close to the truck in order to right in order to hit to hit the center. So hit the center. >> I I think there's a lot of advantage uh to the to the XTS. >> Okay, >> perfect. >> What else should we know about the front end of this thing or are we done up here? >> So, you know, with the Hyundai loader, one of the great things is we we don't have a lot of options. We have a lot of standard features. So, in addition to the quick coupler, this comes already plumbed. the coup coupler's plumb. But you'll notice right here, third function auxiliary hydraulics are standard. >> So that is just whether you need it or not, you got it, baby. >> That That's right. Yeah. So, you know, if we were to have a snowblade on here that angled or we needed that third function, you know, you never have to to guess whether you have it uh on the Hyundai machine or not. It's a standard standard option. >> Okay. So, you know what you're getting right out of the gate. Now, these tires are not standard option. These are thrown on because we're in a snow application. So, I just as you guys are looking, you see this, I don't want you to confuse this kind of tire with what will be what you'll find on a typical Hyundai loader. Is that correct or incorrect? >> That's correct. Yeah. So, this is equipped with a snow tire, >> which is absolutely, you know, a great option for this application. The the standard tire on the Hyundai loader is an L3 radial tire. So, it is a radial tire and does have, you know, a very good, very good ride. Offers a very good ride. Okay, continuing to move down. One of the key things I'll point out is, you know, with the Hyundai loaders, we use a lot of reliable components. So, we use ZF transmission, transmissions and axles, >> and Cumins engines. >> Okay. So, you got me a Cumins. I know nothing about the ZF transmissions and axles, though. Well, ZF transmissions and axles are very well known in the industry. So, there's a lot of other different manufacturers that utilize ZF transmissions and axles. The good thing about them, you know, in addition to your local dealer, there's a lot of service centers out there for ZF transmissions and axles just like there are. Okay, so this is a universally to a guy if he breaks down, he's going to find part. He's not going off to freaking three states away to go locate parts for his machine. >> Yeah, that's that's right. Part parts are very accessible just like with the Cumins engine. >> Are parts Okay, so the Cumins is accessessible almost anywhere, but are parts available for the rest of the Hyundai loader just about anywhere. Or how is that? Because it's not just the axles that break or the engines that break. Sometimes it's a a door handle, right? or it's a windshield wiper blade or it's something else where you're in the middle of a storm and you got to keep operating, >> right? You know, you know, good thing about Hyundai, you know, we're headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. So, you can get parts for any of these machines from your local Hyundai dealer. >> What does that mean? What does it mean to be headquartered in Atlanta? I don't understand that. Does that mean your parts are there? Tell me about that. >> So, that that's our North American uh North American headquarters. >> Okay. So, we have a 2,00 200,000 square foot parts warehouse there. >> 200,000. >> That's correct. >> That's massive. >> So, we can get parts out next day. Uh send dealers parts uh customers next day all the time. So, you can order a part today, have it tomorrow, you know. But the nice thing about the Cumins engine and the ZF transmissions and axles is, you know, they're well-known components that, you know, they use these ZF transmissions and axles and Cumins engines in a variety of >> Did you hear my baby just tune down? >> I heard that. >> I love Cummins. I love Cummins. >> Um, but they're very reliable components. >> What about the warranty on them? >> So, the the whole machine has a 3year, 3,000 hour full coverage warranty. That's axles, transmission, engine, the entire machine. >> Is that just this model or is that typical across the Hyundai board for a wheel loader? >> So that that's a Hyundai standard. >> Does that include skid loaders? >> It does. >> Skid loaders have a 3ear 30,000 hour warranty. >> That's correct. That's correct. >> Wow. Okay. So the the lo this loader has 3ear 3,000 hour full coverage warranty, 5year 10,000 hour structural warranty. >> What does that mean? So that's that's going to be your frames, your loader arms. All the structural pieces are covered for >> your loader arms. Yeah. >> Okay. Cuz I have snapped loader arms. I'm going to say who snapped a frame, but I'm sure one of you guys have snapped a frame out there, but >> but loader arms I've had snap on me before. Not on uh I was on a New Holland different motor obviously. >> Yeah. Hyundai is the largest uh ship building company in the world as well. So we know a lot about working with with steel and we use >> So these float? They don't float. >> Oh, okay. Okay. >> This this one will actually sink right away. But >> like like dad jokes. Dan's telling dad jokes, >> but we really use a really high grade of steel in our products and they're really really well built. >> What about that center pin? Now, I heard there's a lifetime warranty on that. Tell me about that. Show me what you're talking about. >> So, I'm glad you brought that up. One thing that's unique to the loaders is we have a lifetime limited center pin warranty for the first owner. >> Okay? >> So, your center pins here at the top and the bottom, as long as your center pins are maintained and greased, they're covered for life for the first open. >> Okay. So, yeah, the the 3ear 3000 5year 10,000 hour structural and then thank you for bringing up the uh center pin warranty. But when you bring all that together, I think it's uh the best, if not one of the best uh loader warranties in the industry. >> Okay. Where do we go from here? >> So, one point I'll make about uh the warranty too is we offer up to 5year 10,000 hour full coverage as well. So, if you it's 3ear 30,000 is standard, but you can take that up to 5 year $10,000 if you want to to suit the customer's application. >> How do you get that? So basically you can purchase that uh with the machine or through your local dealer. The nice thing about the Hyundai warranty is you can buy extended warranty anytime during the standard warranty period. You don't have to buy it up front. So when you're getting So you took the big hit when you bought it. Now you're getting close and if you're smart, you're looking at your 3year 3,000 hour warranty maybe coming up and you're like I got 10 hours to get that extended warranty and I know what this machine can do. like can afford to up upgrade it, you can do it right at right up until the last that last second on that clock is ticked off. >> That's correct. That's correct. And you know, the nice thing too with us offering a 3year 3000 is, you know, you're buying the up you're buying up from 3 years. So to go to a 4-year warranty or a 5year warranty is uh very very economical. >> What does that mean? Well, >> that's too too broad of a term. Very economical to Elon Musk may not be the same thing as it is to me. >> So, so since we offer a three three year 3000 hour, right? >> Yeah. >> A lot of our competitors offer a one-year warranty. So, if you're going to buy a 5year warranty, you're buying up from year one. Okay. >> With Hyundai, you're buying up for year for year three. So, it's cheaper to go to a 4year $5,000 warranty than it is with some of our competitors. >> Got it. That makes sense. So, going from a three-year to a 5year is cheaper than going from what they offer, which may be a one or a 2year, >> correct? >> To a 5year, >> correct? >> Got it. Okay. Uh, inside the cab, do we want to go up there and look around ahead? >> Go up and look around. >> Yeah. All right. So, let's go up in here. >> All right, guys. I'm going to jump in here because the machine is still running, but as you crawl into the cab, you can just see how quiet it gets. >> What should we be looking at up in here at? So this is um this is uh so basically to your point the the visibility visibility is good. >> Mhm. >> We got an air suspension adjustable seat. One thing that's great for uh snow applications is this seat is also heated. So behind your left shoulder here is a switch. >> Okay. >> Where we can turn on the heated seat. Um, >> I should probably tell the operator of this machine that [laughter] >> that's that's one of the first first phone calls we get. But the technology in the Hyundai machines really is second to none. We got, you know, touchscreen monitors. Um, machines that are really, really simple to operate. Um, you'll notice that you got a safety monitor there above the standard monitor. So that's basically your all-around view camera system. So it'll stitch a view on the monitor like you're standing above the machine looking down or you can select a specific cam camera. The the nice thing about the AAVM system as well is it has object detection. So if someone enter a truck or someone walks into the par a 15 ft parameter around the machine, it's going to notify you that someone's there and warn you on the monitor. >> Nice. >> Yep. So it does have object detection, which is really nice. >> Very cool. >> Um Bluetooth radios, um automatic heat and AC. Um, this one happens to be equipped with uh joystick steering. So, you can use the steering wheel or if you prefer, you can steer with the joystick kind of like skid steer loader. >> Okay. Yeah. For I prefer the the steering wheel. I I always tell my operators, if you can drive a car or a truck, you can drive a loader. It's just got one extra lever and that's over here. And that just makes it even more fun. But some guys, this Xbox generation, they're going to go with that. >> Well, the nice thing about it is if you don't want to use it, you don't you don't have to, right? So, so this this machine suits a lot of different operator preferences. >> So, the steering wheel will always override everything. So even with joystick steering is operational the steering wheel if you know when let's say you're in a situation where you're getting close to a car or a tough situation your instinct is always go to the steering wheel that will always override the joystick steering. >> I didn't know that. >> So that that's a that's a nice feature. But you know the great thing about the controls on this loader is it can really suit um any operator. >> It's a nice command center. I mean, it really is a nice command center. Great vis great visibility, you know. I mean, I'm I [clears throat] don't want to point out my other loads, but I got a Mechac right there. And you can see where the pillars, these pillars are right here. It's still an awesome little tiny baby machine, but uh the visibility up in here is very panoramic. Gives you the ability to kind of look down, see where you're at, see the edges of your bucket. Uh we have a a skinnier pusher on this one specifically. It's skinnier and deeper. It's specifically made by Arctic to be able to road these cuz we can't go roading roading these down the road with a 17t wide pusher on it. So, it this one is uh got super wide wings and that gives us the ability to easily see the edges. Even if it was a wider pusher we had on here, we'd still be able to see clear out to the edges of each uh of the of our pushers at least. >> Yeah. One thing I noticed you mentioned in one of the your previous videos I saw the machines, you know, are they're very quiet. They're very easy to use. >> It's running right now while we're BSing and we're not talking trying to talk over the the top of it, >> right? They shift really smooth. They're just a really nice machine to operate. >> I would say cuz you guys don't get to get to get the butt feel from one of these. There is zero compromise in the butt feel. and the butt feel. I mean, how does the machine actually function? How does it feel as you're going through the the daytoday operation? And some of these machines leave you wanting more. I want this. I wish it would do that. I kind of wa I don't like that about it. >> You get in and you just go and notice nothing but concentrate on your work. You just concentrate on your work. That's what I've noticed about this machine in particular. I would say in comparison because I've ran Volvos, I've ran I've ran every freaking name that there is out there. Um I haven't owned them all, but I've ran them all because I've plowed for other companies and helped them out. Big ones. I'm talking about big ones at I'm not I'm talking about some ones this size and you get up you get up in them and you're like >> this is supposed to be $150,000 loader because it doesn't feel like it. I mean, I don't know what the price point on this one is, but what I'm saying is when you get in a piece of equipment, you do have some expectations on what you should be experiencing from creature comforts and in the cab. And a lot of times there's a bit of a let down when you get in it. This one doesn't do that. >> Really appreciate you saying that. >> All right. Well, let's hop out and take a look around a little bit more. All right, as we come to the back, >> what are we seeing? >> So, obviously, we talked about the Cumins engine. I mean, one of the things that's really hard to beat with this machine is the dull wing service hood. So, we talked about this compartment here. You're going to have your battery disconnect switch here. You're going to have your switch for the hood here, which is electric. Okay. So, basically, you push that switch up, it's going to…
