What happens here

This project details the process of identifying and temporarily repairing multiple severe leaks in brittle CPVC plumbing pipes within a quadplex. It involves accessing pipes through a wall, using push-to-connect fittings (SharkBite variants) to cap off broken sections, and ultimately realizing that extensive pipe degradation necessitates a complete repipe.

I came up north to our friend's quadplex to help him with the water running out of the wall issue. It was way worse than I could have ever imagined. For this leak, we pulled out the multi-master, cut a hole in the kitchen on the other side of the wall, touched the pipe and realized it was broken. My buddy shook his head and disbelief because he had just put in the kitchen cabinets. We used a shark bite variant to cap off this CPVC pipe. Kind of spendy at six something a piece, but they are fast and easy to use. We did not have time for glue to dry and breaks were everywhere in this pipe. We discovered this cool excess shelf next to the toilet. Well, it housed some very brittle pipe. Man, this stuff is gnarly. Snap. Man, I guess I don't know my own strength. So we capped off pipes until we ran out of fittings and there were still more breaks. Time for a repipe.
