Utilize a Honda Foreman 500 ATV equipped with a Greg Judy Bale Unroller to distribute hay. Hook the bale unroller to the ATV, ensuring the hay bale is securely loaded. Drive the ATV into the pasture, allowing the unroller to systematically spread a thin layer of hay. The use of lightweight machinery like the ATV (approximately 1,000 lbs with the hay bale) instead of a heavy tractor (approximately 8,000 lbs) minimizes soil compaction, which is crucial for regenerative farming. After unrolling, the netting from the bale is removed and secured.
