The easy way to process and butcher chicken
What happens here
After scalding, immediately transfer the chickens to a mechanical plucker. Turn on the plucker and use a water hose to continuously spray water into the plucker drum as the chickens are being plucked. The rubber fingers inside the plucker rotate rapidly, removing feathers by bouncing the birds around without damaging the skin. This process typically takes between 45 seconds to a minute per bird. The continuous water flow helps to rinse away feathers into a collection bin.
Goal: Mechanically remove feathers from scalded chickens.
