Applying the Tape with Proper Wraps and Tension

What happens here

Begin applying the Teflon tape by placing it approximately one thread in from the end of the threaded pipe. As you wrap the tape clockwise around the threads, apply firm and constant pressure with your thumb to keep the tape tight and conforming to the thread contours. Continue wrapping the tape, overlapping each turn slightly, until you have completed three full wraps around the threads. This amount is generally sufficient for a good seal without excessive bulk.

Goal: Apply Teflon tape tightly and with the correct number of wraps.
