Here's how to apply Teflon tape the correct way. Yesterday I posted a video on my channel and I had a few guys telling me I did it wrong, which I admit 100% I was doing it wrong. I wasn't necessarily doing it wrong, putting it on clockwise, but I was holding the roll the wrong way. So, today I'm going to show you guys how to do it the right way. Let's get after it. The correct way to apply Teflon tape. Hold the fixture, the fitting, the pipe, whatever you're applying the Teflon tape to in your left hand and work clockwise. Make sure that the tape feeds this way when applying, not this way. If you put it on this way, you can't keep it tight enough and it ends up just slipping off. You run out of tape. Big no-no. Learned that the hard way yesterday. I appreciate you guys. So, take your tape, put it above the thread end, keep it nice and tight as you tape, keeping pressure with your thumb. Give it three wraps. That's one, two, three wraps. Blend it at the bottom. Rip it off. Go ahead and kind of smooth it out. Get all those frays and everything. Take your fitting, your 90, your coupling, your union, whatever it is. Go ahead and thread that on. Take wrenches and tie it down all together. I appreciate all you guys commenting yesterday telling me that I was doing it wrong or doing the roll backwards or whatever you guys had to say. I appreciate the comments. That's why I'm doing this, to help not just myself out and make my skills better, but also help the average homeowner. So, if you guys have been doing plumbing for a long time and know little tricks like that, drop them down below. That's why I'm doing this. So, I hope that helps somebody If and follow for more.
