What happens here
Once the column structures are complete and fully cured, it's time to install the fire feature inserts and the 'very large capstones.' Carefully place each fire feature into its prepared opening within the columns. A licensed professional must then connect the gas lines and electrical wiring to the fire features, following all manufacturer guidelines and local codes. After the fire features are secured and utility connections are complete, carefully hoist and position the capstones on top of each column. These large capstones can be extremely heavy, requiring specialized lifting equipment and multiple people. Secure the capstones with structural adhesive or mortar, ensuring they are perfectly level and aligned with the column structure. Finally, conduct a full operational test of the fire features and perform any necessary finishing touches to the column surfaces.
Goal: Integrate the fire features and finish the columns with protective and decorative capstones.
