Thats a problem

What happens here

Once the trench is excavated, fill the bottom with a layer of crushed gravel or road base. This gravel layer acts as a drainage bed and provides a stable, level surface for the first course of blocks. Use a skid steer to efficiently move and spread the gravel. After spreading, thoroughly compact the gravel using a plate compactor to create a solid and even foundation.

Goal: Create a stable and level foundation for the retaining wall blocks.

Tools and materials

  • Plate Compactor Wacker Neuson — Compacting the gravel base to create a dense, stable foundation
  • Rakes — Spreading the gravel evenly before compaction
  • Skid Steer ASV VT-70 — Moving and spreading large quantities of gravel
  • Gravel — Creating the stable base layer for the retaining wall
