What happens here
This project provides a comprehensive guide to understanding, operating, and maintaining the Boss Snowrator, a versatile sidewalk snow and ice removal machine. It details the quick-change attachment system for snow blowers, plows (V-plow and straight blade), brooms, and salt spreaders, along with an overview of the machine's controls and features.

(9,548 characters)negative eight of all the days man holy this may look like a snow raider to some of you guys but this has been completely redesigned from the ground up well they beat me here all right guys we are going to be checking out a brand new updated renovated reinvented reimagined sidewalk removal tool by boss so this is uh some of you guys may know the snow raider this is like snow raider 4.0 and that's right in here let's see what we're dealing with today hey siri it's minus eight degrees outside it's minus eight good morning you guys you picked about as nice of a day as you possibly could to do something like this didn't you know negative eight of all the days man is it in there it is in there shall we go in it's not going to be any warmer in there than it is out here but we'll go in anyway holy first impressions right wow reinvented reimagine everything has been changed about this thing this has been basically completely ground up this is not not i mean it's it shares the same name but nothing else nothing else yeah yeah how many hey rick how many different attachments does this unit come with or or can this there's four different attachments you got the broom the blower a v-plow and a straight blade and actually two sizes of straight blades a four foot and a five a four and a five foot and then you'll have a uh front mounted spreader which we don't really call an attachment because it doesn't attach to the front it's actually an accessory you know we've got a rear mounted spreader broadcast spreader too which you'll see does the old snow raider have that capability of inner swapping like this one no just the basically the four foot blade yep uh and the drop spreader and now the tailgate spreader that we're introducing as well so and it'll stay that way basically just a plow where this one gives you the added versatility of the see the spreader on the back there too so to drop the plow he takes disconnects two hoses puts the leg down two pins one two right here so design basically knew from the ground up are we running the same power plant as the old snow raider no so that was the biggest thing is we needed more power to run the broom and the blower okay so we got a v-twin uh right now we're developing an engine with kohler that's efi electronic throttle body so 26.5 horsepower is that what this one is running yep that's what's in both an efi 26 horsepower kohler so that's the same power plant as on the multiforce if i'm remembering right yeah and we've and tell me walk me through the options that we got with this one will you see i mean i see the salt spreader on the back on this uh and this one so this is a bolt-on option it looks like yeah it's actually that's kind of just how it drops on so you don't have to ride around with that thing on all night long worrying about banging into uh post office boxes or signs while you're doing it you can pop that bad boy on at the end of the shift you get all your sidewalks done and then you then you go down and you consult it so it's not hanging and danging dangling right okay makes sense so then uh we wanted to keep that on the front uh like our current snow raider so drop spreader you said steve yep so that's mounted up here so right now that one's bolted on we haven't developed a quick attach for that yet but okay so as we look at the two units we've got a bare bones unit over here this drop spreader on the front is the unit he's talking about right here it looks like it bolts on with four main bolts right there here's the framework without it on so you can see how that adds right onto the front of that machine and how that looks not and on we got a v-plow it's a four four two uh we'll have two straight blade options a four and a five foot um with optional wings as you can see installed there yep four foot broom and a four foot snow thriller okay let's do it let's take a look at it action's pretty pretty simple just got left and right forward and reverse um as far as the hydraulics for the accessories this is lift and lower so lift is actually basically pushing down on that try to make it so you can do it while still driving you know so you can have one hand there operate everything without having to feel around and reach around for every every specific control and then these are basically your their your low flows so like as attached to the v-power you're going to have your left and right wings you've got your throttle as i said it was electronic throttle body so it's push button ignition this is your display switch to go between different different display options so you can display your your fuel gauge oil temp hydraulic and engine oil temp light switch and then your high flow as a push button you got forward and reverse so pretty straight forward at this point i had no clue that he was going to go through that snow right there what that was was all the hard compacted snow from the entire season that we've been pushing up but not plowing all the way to the end of the run because it's not in our contract they want to use this area as a snow dump and that's what this specifically is left for just a place to dump off our extra snow all right well let's see how the broom handles things [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] now one of the things you don't really get to see because it doesn't stand out but you start to appreciate it eventually is heat vents yeah this actually has heat vents aimed at the operator it's got heat vents right up where your hands are so your hands stay warm and it's got other heat vents aimed right at it now of course it doesn't have a cab but i'd rather have a little heat point at me than nothing at all hey what are you guys thinking so far uh we've tested out the v-plow we tested out the straight plow we tested out the broom if you guys like videos like this the thumbs up goes a long long way guys and i absolutely love talking to you guys in the comments down below so tell me what you think of this wait what you wanna know how much they cost okay what is the price on this unit you have to check before you put this online okay ball park yep those are just toro rocks pins so real simple using the same pins here too so you want to show them the hood yeah yeah for sure working on a little fit and finish there for production but so that may change this cowl may change how it attaches and and detach detaches same way but i'm working on some fitment issues to make it a little more easy to get on and off so this machine is gonna get refinements before it's ready this upcoming fall in like eight or nine months yep prototype okay flip open hood here this would be how you attach and detach your drop spreader then you got a battery that's 690 cold crank caps we've got an internal left and lower cylinder keeps it out of the crud uh fuel tank here and that hydraulic tank over there still working on harness routing stuff so it's a little sloppy in there still but so your cylinder is completely encased how how do you get at your battery steve if you have your spreader on the front the whole thing will tip right up [Music] oh so since this was a ground-up redesign we figured we could um design the lift group in a way that we could get away without using one of those shoots so that's where the lift group's so wide open um the idea is that you know you can run your attachment you can plow and then just drop salt right behind it as you plow yep and since the frame the frame of stainless steel and we got the that's another reason we put the cylinder inside is so we can keep all that out of the out of the corrosive salt so so you have your your salt they call this exact path because it exactly covers the path pretty much of the machine and now you're plowing and salting at the exact same time basically we put it off to the side so it actually it shoots like a five i think it's a 12 feet broadcast so it gives you a little more a little wider path for certain areas is you'll be taking care of like a complex like that you'll get up to the door you'll spin around and just uh do the blast by the door and take care of that and then use the use to take care of the cat the sidewalk makes total sense when will this be available so it'll be it'll be ready for fall of 2022. i'm going to guess so that production's probably tight at this point because production's tight for everybody so if these guys want one they must get on it and not wait around and that's that's the new mag snow raider bye bye short for magnum right i believe so i think that's that's the right name you guys yeah yep no raider meg it's coming in right around 15.5 each each uh accessory is gonna be between two and three thousand of course the simpler accessories are gonna cost less than the snowblowers will cost more but at least we've got an idea for these guys right pretty close yep okay all right you guys well that's our video for today i hope you guys enjoyed taking a sneak peek at this new boss mag coming out um this is the first looks that you get to have at it so i want to say thanks to you guys for letting me be the guy that brings it to these guys much appreciated and i hope you guys enjoyed uh today's video and learning about this and let me know i know some of you guys run these uh snow raiders so let me know what you think in the comments down below and always love hearing from you guys the like button goes a long way and hit that subscribe button as well that's all we've got for you on this one guys god bless go get em and we'll catch you on another one
