Use a utility knife to cut through any caulk sealing the base of the toilet bowl to the floor. Carefully lift the toilet bowl straight up and off the flange. Inspect the toilet flange and the old wax ring. The video reveals a heavily corroded cast iron flange and remnants of a poorly sealed wax ring, with signs of significant leaking, including a mushroom-like growth from prolonged moisture. The old wax seal needs to be completely removed.
