Suzie Cow is so spoiled! Moving the cows to new pasture...ALONE!

What happens here

To create a temporary paddock for rotational grazing, use white Strain-Rite step-in posts. These posts are designed to be easily pushed into the ground without special tools. Deploy several posts in a line to create the desired barrier. Next, use a Strain-Rite geared roller to unroll poly electric wire between the posts, connecting it to the existing permanent fence. This poly wire acts as a psychological barrier for the cattle, guiding them into the new pasture section. The roller helps manage tangling and makes deployment easier. The fence will be energized using a 'hot' connection from the main electric fence line.

Goal: Install poly electric fencing to create temporary paddocks for cattle.

Tools and materials

  • Hot/Cold Hookup — Connecting the poly wire to an existing energized fence line safely
  • Poly Electric Wire — The conductive material for the temporary electric fence
  • Strain-Rite Geared Roller Strain-Rite — Unreeling and coiling poly electric wire efficiently
