What happens here
Once you have selected your solid gourds, transport them to a suitable outdoor location for drying. The ideal location is elevated, provides ample sunlight, and has good air circulation. The video demonstrates placing the gourds on top of a chicken coop. Arrange the gourds in a single layer if possible, or in small, loose piles, ensuring air can circulate around each one. The goal is to let natural elements—sun, wind, and ambient temperature—do the work of drying. Avoid trying to dry gourds indoors with artificial heat sources like wood stoves, as this method often leads to mold or rot. Allow Mother Nature to take its course; this natural process ensures the gourds dry properly and harden into a durable shell.
Goal: Set up gourds in an optimal environment for natural drying
