This project demonstrates a quick and effective method to achieve and maintain high tension on a string line, which is crucial for various construction and DIY tasks requiring precision over long distances, such as foundation work, fence installation, or hanging shelf brackets. The technique also includes a simple way to release the tension for easy removal.

Sometimes the cheapest tool on the job site is the best tool on the job site. And today we're going to be going over string lines. You'll see this in foundation work or fence work. If you got to pull a level plumb line across the long distance, a lot of guys are going to use a string line. Here's how to get a string line tight. Take your string, pull it tight. Put your finger in there, wrap six times. 1 2 3 4 5 6. Go ahead and put that over your nail or your spike or whatever the case is. Now with this end, pull this end this way and this end this way. And that'll give you even more tension if you need it. So now, go ahead and take this end here. Pull it back on itself. Not going to go anywhere. Now the cool thing about wrapping it this way is it comes off. Take this, pull it, release all the tension you want out of that line, and you're good to go. So, I'm using this to hang my shelf brackets up and uh I'll catch you guys later. Peace.
