STOP!! Don't Install Shower Head The Hard Way Ever Again

What happens here

Begin by taking the shower arm and wrapping thread seal tape, also known as Teflon tape, around the threaded end that will screw into the wall. Ensure the tape is wrapped clockwise (the same direction you'll be tightening the arm) for 3 to 4 turns. After applying the tape, spread a layer of pipe dope over the taped threads. This combination of tape and dope provides a superior seal and lubricates the threads, making installation smoother and more secure.

Goal: Ensure a watertight seal and easy installation of the shower arm.

Tools and materials

  • Shower Arm — The curved pipe that extends from the wall to hold the shower head
  • Pipe Dope — Providing an additional sealant layer and lubrication for the threads
  • Thread Seal Tape — Sealing the pipe threads to prevent leaks
