Install and Tighten Shower Arm

What happens here

Carefully thread the prepared shower arm into the threaded opening in the shower wall by hand until it's snug. To tighten it further without scratching its polished finish, take a pair of 440 Channel Locks and use the *smooth, un-jawed side* of the handle to grip the shower arm. With your other hand, apply gentle pressure and leverage to turn the shower arm, securing it firmly into the wall. This technique prevents direct metal-on-metal contact with the finished surface.

Goal: Firmly install the shower arm into the wall without damaging its finish.
