Stick around until the end for a rippin' guitar solo!
What happens here
Take one end of the stainless steel cable and thread it through the first railing post, then continue feeding it through all subsequent intermediate posts along the desired run. Once the cable has passed through all intermediate posts, push the pre-assembled tensioner rod (from Step 1) through the final end post's hole from the inside. Then, attach the cable to the tensioner rod, typically by inserting it and securing it with additional hardware like a conical washer and nut on the outside of the post. Repeat this entire process for each individual cable run on your railing system.
Goal: Run all cables through the posts and secure one end with a tensioner
Tools and materials
- Nuts Decorators — Securing the tensioner components on the outside of the post
- Railing Posts — The structural uprights for the railing system
- Stainless Steel Cable Decorators — Creating the railing infill
- Threaded Tensioner Rods Decorators — Allowing for cable tension adjustment
- Washers — Providing a snug fit and distributing force on the tensioning end
