Stick around until the end for a rippin' guitar solo!

What happens here

For the opposite end of each cable run (the fixed end), pull the cable taut and insert it into a crimping sleeve. Thread this crimping sleeve assembly through the corresponding hole in the final end post. Pull the cable firmly to remove any slack, ensuring it is reasonably straight and tensioned. The exact length of cable to be left extending past the post will depend on the crimping tool and fitting design. Once positioned, temporarily secure this end with a nut or holding device to maintain tension before permanent crimping.

Goal: Set up the fixed end of each cable for crimping

Tools and materials

  • Crimping Sleeves/Fittings Decorators — The component that will be crimped onto the cable to create a fixed end
  • Railing End Post — The post where the fixed end of the cable terminates
  • Stainless Steel Cable Decorators — The cable being terminated
