What happens here
To counteract the previously identified issue of uncompacted backfill around the pool, the crew performs 'aqua-packing.' This technique involves thoroughly saturating the loose soil with water from a hose. The water helps the soil settle and consolidates the backfill, effectively eliminating any existing void spaces. This is a crucial step to prevent the paver base from migrating into these voids over time, which would cause significant sinkage and instability in the finished patio. The process is repeated multiple times to ensure maximum compaction.
Goal: The uncompacted soil around the pool is saturated with water in a process called 'aqua-packing' to settle the backfill and eliminate void spaces, preventing future paver sinkage.
