Staining & Re-lacquering Interior Woodwork. Using Wood Stains.
What happens here
After cleaning and allowing the trim to dry, lightly sand any nicks, dings, or rough spots on the trim using a 3M medium sanding sponge. The goal is to scuff the surface and smooth out imperfections, not to remove the existing finish entirely. This light sanding helps the new stain and lacquer adhere better to the surface.
Goal: Smooth out nicks and dings on the trim.
