Spraying Ceilings with an Airless sprayer. Painting Ceilings.

What happens here

After the first "fog coat" has dried, prepare to apply the final coat. The presenter emphasizes the importance of a clear walking path to allow for uninterrupted, end-to-end spraying. This prevents the need to stop and start, which can lead to visible "stop marks" or "holidays" on the ceiling that appear shinier or heavier. The final coat will be applied slower and with a 50% overlap to ensure complete and even coverage, creating a uniform finish. The spray pattern should ideally be perpendicular to the entrance of the room to maintain consistency.

Goal: Set up the room and understand the technique for applying a uniform final coat.

That's how I'm going to be spraying the ceiling. And I don't want to release my trigger and um do any start and stops in the middle of the ceiling. You want to go from end to end. Um otherwise if you start release the trigger and go back and forth without walking the distance from end to end, you'll get what we call holidays and that's heavy spots in the ceiling and you'll be able to see those holidays. So we're going to spray it from end to end. You want to make sure you have a good walking path so you can walk from end to end so you don't have to start to stop in the middle of the ceiling. When you get to the some type of light fixtures, you just work on the light fixture. [snorts] Now I [snorts] can continue walking once again. And then once this dries, then we're going to actually do the opposite direction. And before it actually um the paint dries after the second coat, we'll be pulling off the masking. So, we're in um another room in the house. This is This room's already dry. We're going to be putting on the final coat in this room. And um the room the entrance to the room is right here. And I want my uh spray pattern actually be perpendicular to the entrance of the room. So, I'm actually going to be walking this way. When you're spraying your ceilings, make sure your floor is um there's nothing in your way so you can walk back and forth because you don't want stop and stop marks stop start and stop marks in your ceiling cuz they're what we call holidays and you'll be able to eventually see them. They'll be a little bit shinier than the rest of the ceiling. So, you want to be able to walk from end to end when you're actually spraying the ceilings. And um we'll show you what that looks like on this final coat right here. The final coat is going to be a lot slower than the uh initial fog coat and it's going to be overlap 50%.
