What happens here
This project provides step-by-step instructions on how to set up a ventilation system for a portable job site spray booth. It covers positioning the blower frame, installing the filter, cutting an opening in the plastic sheeting for airflow, connecting the ducting, and attaching the blower fan. The video concludes with a demonstration of the airflow using a vaneometer and emphasizes safety precautions.

(5,755 characters)[Applause] [Music] all right we got our spray booth uh set up i did flip it around because i want to show you how to hook up this blower system and i couldn't get the cameras in and video on the other side the spray booth just spins around really easily and so we spun around just for video purposes now here's our um items that go along with the blower system that keeps this this spray booth ventilated and keeps sucking you know our um fallout and overspray to the back side of the booth and not going out the front of the booth it has um these devices right here this is what's gonna hold this thing in place you definitely want to slip these things in before you do your corners um and tighten them down uh i didn't do it first i just loosened it and slipped it in now so you can have them in you know beforehand if the corner if that's really tight it might be a little bit hard to get them in later on if you are going to um hook up your blower system you know make sure you toss these things in before you lock your corners down now there's two holes on the bottom of it these uh wing nuts right here you're just going to remove the wing nuts and this is what's going to hold this system in place right here so i'm loosening these wing nuts right here now i'm going to set that up inside there and i want i mean you could have this thing set anywhere you know in your booth or um you can have it towards one side but i want it centered in the booth that way it's drawn evenly across the boot puts across the booth i'm going to put my wingnuts back on there's four really strong earth magnets these that's what's going to keep this part attached to the opposite side and make sure those earth magnets are on all four corners in place i'm going to take the filter system right here this is the filter i'm going to take this to the opposite side and it's just going to attach right to those magnets it has the feet feet are going to be down filter goes inside here and it's going to be held in place with this little device right here it's got some slots it just sets in so i'm gonna walk around the other side hook this thing on and one thing i want to do before i hook it on in order to have air flow going through there you do have to have your plastic cut away so i'm going to before i throw my filter on there i'm just going to take a knife cut away this plastic right here where my hole is so i can get air flow through there got my whole cut right there large enough i like to just trim the excess plastic away so i'm not restricting any airflow i don't want to cut outside my orange right there so you'll get some leakage it does have a seal around it a black seal so you get your nice tight seal when it's held in place magnetically once again feet are going to go down it's going to lock itself right in place extremely strong magnets now it's held in place now i'm going to hook up my vent i have an adapter right here that adapts this hole right here to drop down to attach to my blower just going to loosen this thing up i'm going to get it on there and cinch it tight has a strap to actually cinch it tight with all right so now i've worked it on there got it on i'm going to snug it down my tie strap that's going to hold it in place now i'm just going to put my blower in place all right now i got to my fan here i'm going to hook my fan up now the airflow it's um it sucks air in the bottom and then it blows air out the top portion of it right here so i'm going to set this up get my adapter that adapts it down to the size of my blower i'm gonna get that on here you could use you know any blower that you want you know this blower has been tested you know with this system to work and function properly the system this is a big high high volume you'll blow right here that's going to move a lot of air and i'm going to show you a ventimeter test you know of how much air it's moving inside our job site spray booth when we're all done so we got both of them hooked up strapped up got ourselves plugged in we got our vent it's going to be running underneath our garage door and we'll be spraying inside there and i get do get a lot of questions people how much you know over spray goes out the booth if you don't have any fan at all not very much does go out the booth without any fan it usually typically just falls straight down because you don't have any wind because these things aren't designed for an outside environment it just falls down if you had one drop cloth out in front that's i've used it without a fan in one drop cloth out front is usually enough but the fan itself just makes it for a cleaner environment inside and easier to breathe and you really should be wearing a mask even if you're in a booth with this type of system hooked up i'm going to turn the fan on and we're going to see it run now and how it functions you know just to show you guys what abandonment of animator what it does is it shows you air flow and how much air is being drawn towards this fan if you're really particular about um the air flow and you know one van one fan versus another fan and what type of air movement you're getting from it all right there you have it we got our ventilation system all set up with our job site spray booth for painting a um cabinet system indoors inside of a garage if you got any questions or comments about this system how you go about setting it up leave it in the comment section below we'll try to get to your questions as soon as we can if you've got any tips or tricks setting up a ventilation system also leave it down in the comment section below if you've enjoyed this video if it's helped you at all please consider giving us a thumbs up subscribe notify we'll see you next
