What happens here

This project demonstrates the use of a SpeTool Drill Guide to achieve perfectly straight and perpendicular holes in various materials like metal, wood, and PVC. The guide features an all-aluminum construction, pivot pins for precise centering, and a built-in depth gauge. The demonstration focuses on drilling a 1/4 inch hole through a metal workpiece, emphasizing proper technique, including using lubricant and maintaining a slow drilling speed to preserve drill bit sharpness.

If your holes keep coming out crooked, don't worry. I got you. Let's get after it. All right, so I just got done welding this frame for a tabletop, and I got to drill quarter-inch holes. Well, I'm not very good at drilling a straight hole through metal. So, I got this Speedtool drill guide. And a lot of times you guys see it used on wood, but you can use it on metal, wood, and PVC. It offers an all-aluminum construction. It comes with two pivot pins located in the top, and you can screw them on the bottom. I got the pivot pins locked in here. Now I can put this on my workpiece, rotate it, and this will always be center. This helps when you're working with thinner material like I am here. Also, on this drill guide it includes a built-in depth gauge, so I can I can set it right here, and it'll stop me there. So, I got my hole marked, punched, taking a quarter-inch drill bit, just chuck it up like you would any drill. Comes with a chuck key. Tighten it down. Go ahead and put this on your workpiece. I got the Speedtool C-clamp down. Remember, when drilling through metal, speed kills sharpness every time. Lock it in one, take your time, let the bit do the work. I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to throw some lube on there. For projects in wood, metal, PVC, or whatever the case is, whether you're doing a table, brackets, or fine fishing work where alignment matters, this is a pretty handy tool to have in the shop. It's Wednesday. I got stuff to do. I'll catch you guys later. Peace.
