Remove Rocks with Backhoe
At 9:51 in
Something went BAM! SPARKS!!!
What happens here
Position the tractor and backhoe over the first marked rock. Deploy the outriggers to stabilize the backhoe. Carefully begin digging around the rock using the backhoe bucket, moving soil away to expose the rock. Once enough soil is removed, use the bucket and the thumb attachment to grip the rock firmly. Lift the rock out of the ground and place it in a designated pile to the side. Continue this process for all identified rocks, digging them out, lifting them with the backhoe's thumb, and moving them aside. The presenter notes some rocks are very large (e.g., 2500 pounds and 700 pounds). Once all rocks are removed, the resulting holes will need to be filled later with dirt using a skid steer.
Goal: Clear the field of large rocks to prevent future equipment damage.
